We as true halo fans want the ending to be as epic as the story in its entirety has been so far.
Okay, your post is kinda hard, but I'll just go ahead and say, no to the line I quoted.
You do not get to decide what the mindset of a 'true halo fan' is. You can pick your mindset, but nobody else.
...Soo you dont want an epic ending?

Saying that if you think Chief dying is cliche or just another overdone thing means you aren't a 'true halo fan' is just insulting and narrow-minded.
did u not read my entire thread? i clearly stated at the end that i agree on the fact that maybe he shouldnt go out the traditional 'hero dies, saves the day' kinda ''cliche'' thing... i mearly stated that it could be the most climatic ending as long as 343i pulls it off right. i never said that to be a true halo fan you have to agree with me and Master Chief has to die... i never said that. what i am saying is we want the most epic and emotional ending possible for such a great game and for us to lose something as important as Master Chief would be a huge impact on us. I also said Halo 3's ending was perfect... He didn't die that time did he? so no i am not being narrow minded, just open to the fact that, although the hero dying is cliche, the hero living is just as, if not moreso. yet the hero dying is almost always a better story. but whether John dies or not, I dont think its 'narrow minded' of me to say that we halo fans just want the ending to be something to remember.
