I am not being a dick about the books. My point is standing up for the others that for some reason havent read the books, I have read the books, i just need to finish The Flood But besides that i have said 1000 times. What logical sense does it make to introduce something that has been absent for 2 games and brought into a game with a motto like "Finish the Fight" My role? is to defend the illiterate

I know, you defended your point logically and all..but I think that the last game should be true to the whole story, and not just the part to the people who are too lazy to read.

If someone plays the campaign..I'd hope they'd care enough about the story to read the books..

..If they don't read the books, the first two missions I listed would just give us the regular shield test/aiming test..and also let us know that there are still more SPARTAN's and give reason to them later on in the game..

..and also do so in a kick-ass fasion..

...and..wasn;t it pretty stupid playing during the Covie civil war? I love killing Elites..they're actually a challenge..and I hate Brutes...no shield...=(

I'd like to fight them all at the same time..and I also want less boss fights, and more Maw Style "Fun-Runs"

So Truce on the books? and no more Maw style. I hated that, it felt liek a racing game and not a FPS. But i played Halo and Halo 2 before reading the books and still seemed to tie everything together. Of course i used Wikipedia to delve deeper into the Halo Universe, but the books did make it clearer.

I wouldnt of minded if it wasnt for the time limit. It ruined it

Well Halo didnt have any boss fights. Although it was 9 levels the levels were huge, and had you doing alot more.
The Scarab, Heretic Leader and Regret were easy. Tartarus was easy only with camo + energy sword

Halo was 10 levels, wasn't it? Halo 2 was 14 levels, and a movie..it seemed so short...I know the people were easy to kill, but I hate when they get rid of the regular styke of play and let a Prophet take 10 hits to the head by a guy who can flip a tank, even though he can't even walk he is so goddamn old.

Levels:91(make a good long game)
I will only do a few at a time like skip twenty then say.
1.The begining of the end.
(Cutscene)The master cheif is still in the ship he stole and the giant PoA look alike with the head commander gets hit with a partical beam at the bridge and goes through the whole ship and kills everyone on it making the war easier for the covies and the MC crashes into a covenant cruiser and he holds up in their armory until he feels it's the right moment to strike out and head down to earth.(playable)Run to the bridge of the covenant cruiser and take everyone in it out while locking the doors behind so no one can get in crashes it on earth.
2.EARTH.
(cutscene)MC crawls out of the ship finding only a river of blood and bodies of both races Covenant and human.(playable)YOu walk around trying to find any sign of human until he runs into head on by a fleet of veteran covies so you kill them.
20.THE FLOOD
(cutscene)THe mc after fight for days now sees a huge fleet of covenant/human ships crashing and shooting up the earth and when the master cheif get to them he finds a marine gasping for air as he gets dragged inside a destroyed ship the mc follows to save him but when he does he finds a army of hungry flood waiting for him.(playable)You fight the flood but you are forced to retreat because of the overwhelming numbers of the flood but he runs into gravemind (End level)
25.Gravemind and cortana's alliance
9cutscene) MC find cortana but she fakes being on his side and lets him put her in his suit and when he does she starts shooting biofoam in his face while stoping his air tank and so on trying to kill him and he struggles for awhile until he fakes a heart stop with his mad skills when she ejects back into the moniter the MC gets up and fires a new hidden weapons at the moniter and etc killing Cortana but it angrers Gravemind so gravemind picks up the MC smashing him into stuff and throwing him and summoning flood to shoot him until he is nearly dead then Gravemind throws the MC out a window only to be rescued by a pelican with the arbiter and a new character that is playable a hunter so the hunter leaps into the place where gravemind is and kills him.
91.World ends
(cutscene)the world explodes and kills everything in the entire galaxy

Halo was 9 levels counting the cutscenes because the cinematics didnt count as levels as in halo 2
Halo 2 was 15 levels including the cutscenes

keep in mind that not everyone has read the books (i have)

to bring in a story line will throw EVERYONE who hasn't read the books completly off, and it would in turn leave the 'cliffhanger' to halo 2, un-answered.

no other spartans. I enjoy the MC by himself

Please dont repeat what i said, I already tried to defend the people who haven't read the books. It isn't our fault they havent read the books, so maybe they should read before they get halo 3. Saying if more Spartans come

It really doesn't take more than a long cutscene to introduce that part of the Halo universe into the game. If people don't read the books..why should Bungie change their story to suit them? They will (or should) make their game based off of the Halo bible, and include the SPARTANs...people will stilll play campaign, and surely will still play Halo 3's campaign longer than we did Halo 2's.

Even if it does take a long cutscene, we dont want to watch a movie, the story can be explained with gameplay also

Well, the cutscenes are the things that hold the story together in the games..so if you don't watch them..don't complain if you don't get something ;)

I realized how lots of people simply press "A" whenever a cut scene shows up, so that's why it would be good to also actually be able to take control of the situation and play through two deciding epic battles which have a large effect on the Halo story as a whole.

Well i always watch the cutscenes, even though i know every word in the Halo 2 cutscenes, it just misses something when you skip through them

you bring other spartans into this suddenly, the world dying isn't as important. You will not get the same effect. other spartans are helping you.

I want to be the only hope. that's what made Halo different. we are loosing. whenever other spartans get into it, I feel like we have a chance. I dont want a straight forward "we have a chance" I want to beat impossible odds...

books...are so that you can make up your own conclusion, and see what has happened before. the game, is so you can experiance it. Separately.

that's all the books were meant to do...so you can know what happened before

Deja Vu...
Me and the other posters have already had this argument. I once was on your side, but it makes more sense to put the Spartans into the final chapter. It is true alot of people have not read the books but that is their own fault.
And what of Reach, do you know how many Spartans were stationed there and did that help us defend the planet? Even with the Spartans hopefully coming back, we are fighting a losing battle

and for a fun little tidbit: How many of you knew that the desert in the Halo 3 trailer is really New Mombasa?
Clues:
What does the thing in the far back look like? A bridge perhaps?

dont say its thier fault. there are people who play halo, who arn't as dominated and intrigued as us. they won't understand. bungie will loose semi-fans to this. they are under the illusion that THEY alone will get to save the world...no help...

and honestly, I am a major halo geek. I love halo, but i know the difference between the books and the game.

Well if they dont want to read the books and get confused while playing halo 3 whos fualt is it?
Bungie isn't going to lose any fans because they decided to bring more spartans into it
Spartans arent going to help us beat the covenant, even if their are 9 more

I never even said that you should play with more SPARTANs on your team on Earth, besides the landing portion, then you get seperated to defend certain sections. you'd still be playing on your own at all times.

It is the people's faults for not reading the books..the things I said that could be included would introduce all the people who don't care enough about the story to read the books.

Plus, all the SPARTANs on REACH (27 went down) and John with 2 SPARTANs in the space dock didn't save REACH..

The thing in the back of the trailer is part of the space elevator from a MAC station ;) but it's been confirmed to be New Mombasa

books are for reading.

you read a book

you picture the scenes in your head

you finish the book

your imagination still clenches the words...

would you want to see what SOMEONE ELSE thinks the characters, and the places look like?

Thank you MLG for agreeing with me. Its the peoples fault they dont ead the books. If tehy wnat to get confused, their loss, not Bungie's. Bungie isn't going to make their game anything less just becuase people cnat't read. Like stated before, We could have 200 Spartans, that doesnt mean they will be helping you, they will probably be helping other squads

How is that an elevator?
That looks bigger than the dam MAC Station
