The Halo REACH Script (post thoughts in thread)

Writing Lead of Whisper Studios. Check out Heron!

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

REACH is described to look similar to Earth, and has the same type of tree, et.c Most SPARTANs look the same, but you can tell height differences, or a female's larger breasts and wider hips, etc.

What are you on about? Why are you so opposed to the books?

dont say its thier fault. there are people who play halo, who arn't as dominated and intrigued as us. they won't understand. bungie will loose semi-fans to this. they are under the illusion that THEY alone will get to save the world...no help...

and honestly, I am a major halo geek. I love halo, but i know the difference between the books and the game.

I never even said that you should play with more SPARTANs on your team on Earth, besides the landing portion, then you get seperated to defend certain sections. you'd still be playing on your own at all times.

It is the people's faults for not reading the books..the things I said that could be included would introduce all the people who don't care enough about the story to read the books.

Plus, all the SPARTANs on REACH (27 went down) and John with 2 SPARTANs in the space dock didn't save REACH..

The thing in the back of the trailer is part of the space elevator from a MAC station ;) but it's been confirmed to be New Mombasa

Thank you MLG for agreeing with me. Its the peoples fault they dont ead the books. If tehy wnat to get confused, their loss, not Bungie's. Bungie isn't going to make their game anything less just becuase people cnat't read. Like stated before, We could have 200 Spartans, that doesnt mean they will be helping you, they will probably be helping other squads

How is that an elevator?
That looks bigger than the dam MAC Station

Haha, well that's what Frankie (or whoever does the FAQs) said ;)

do u have a life???

It took me a few hours to think up while watching the Soccer Tournament, and took me about half an hour to type up. This means I have no life?

Do you know how to effectively contribute to the topic at hand without making an ass of yourself? No? That's what I thought.

Constant state of war, of one, with all.

I just had a thought boys and girls. What if they made these book levels unlockable? We all play multiple times through the game, right? The first outing is for the mainstreamers. After that you unlock the bonus stages, and they appear in the order that MLG described, so they fit cohersively together.

Maybe this could be a true unlockable for Legendary?

I'd have no problem with that..but many people would still get confused playing through the game their first time..

Oh well..Either way. I'd be glad if they had more epic, and memorable battles...and REACH just about blows everything else in Halo out of the water ;)

I just don't know why or where you think that Spartans are going to pop out of nowhere into the story.
Unless Bungie wants to totally throw off everyone that hasnt read the books (a large number). They will probably stick with MC

did you skip over the part detailing a flashback cutscene EXPLAINING the other spartans?

Hail to the Victors! Reppin' that MAIZE n BLUE!!!
Perfect Grenade
Chill bro. Gotta get my bowl.

I'm glad your not in charge of the campaign.

And why do you set up for a sequel? THis is the last of the trilogy.

I take MLG's side totally. If you care about the story line, read the books anyway. If you are that against reading 3 books that can be completed in less than a week, skip the cut scenes and play it. To understand the end you must first understand the beginning.

Yess...sweet, someone isn't being a dick about the possibility of more SPARTANs. Just read the books, and you will know much more.
I read the books and liked them all. But that doesn't mean that I want everything from the books in the next game. Another question: Why in -blam!-'s name would you introduce new major characters in the concluding game?

Do you have any idea how large of a cutscene that would be? This isn't Final Fantasy: X, we don't have ten hour cutscenes where you press X every once in a while (that was pretty much the whole game, I might add).

Technically he is making them supportive cast since MC is still the main focus. Plus if you made the books levels unlockable, you wouldn't even notice.

Yes, a little longer than the one that opens up Halo 2. You don't wanna watch cutscenes..click "A" the first time you see it, and you will not understand the story..simple as that. Do people expect to understand what's going on without watching cutscenes?

It's not the last of the trilogy. They stated "finishing the story arc". you know what this means, right? it means it's the last...last timeline wise. There will be other games (thought not to take place after Halo 3, but before).

When did I set up for a sequal? Pentinent Tangent flying off could either be an Ode to Halo, or something that can be used in bungie's next set of games.

You know how they got some things from the old games? Cortana? MK IV armor (I believe)? Cyborgs?

Well, the cutscene would only need to be s long as the openning scene in Halo 2, or a little longer. There really isn't a problem.

It depends on how they go about doing it, really. You know at the end of the day our disagreements do not matter in the least. You and I both know that we will buy, play and like it regardless. I'm just going to let this rest.

Alrighty...Spartans are awesome..we can both at least agree on that, right? And also, we should play as the Chief for most of the Campaign?

Yes, Spartans are most definitely teh pwn. That last question is a hard one for me because I am a staunch Arbiter supporter. Arbiter should by no means get more spotlight, but I think they should at least get equal time because he is too big of a part of the story, wether or not that was a good decision made by Bungie remains to be seen. In short and in less confusing words: Yes, MC should get more time but the Arbiter's side of the war still needs enough gameplay time to explain and sort out his Elite brother's wars agains the Covenant.[/short explanation] I think the solution to this is to give them equal time, but seperate Campaigns so we are not being thrown about between the Chief and Arbiter.

I'd say...

65% of the game should be played as Chief..25% as the Arbiter, and 10% as other SPARTANs (really, just two levels)

Why? Two shor levels to introduce supporting characters wouldn't be too much to ask..it helps that the levels would be epic..and they would make people un-confused when the SPARTANs show up later on in the game.
