I Halo, there were a few guns that came equiped with built in flashlights, such as the Assault Rifle and Shotgun. Although you already have a flashlight on your armor, perhaps having a weapon with a built in flashlight could give you an upgrade to your current one ie it is brighter or never runs out of power. Just a thought.

I am...whimsical today.

If you have one on your suit you don;t need on eon your gun. The light in Halo 2 didn't rely on battery to stay on, it depended on the light level. If it was light enough then it only came on for a few seconds, but if it were dark then it stayed on indefinitely.

However, that said I think it would be useful sometimes to have a light when playing as the Arbiter.

It would kick ass if there was a level that was extremely dark, and so the flashlight was actually useful. Imagine running down a long dark corridor, and just as the flashlight's juice runs out, a whole bunch of red dots appear on your radar. INTENSE! Also, all the new real time shadow effects would probably look neat.
