We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

Wow, I was falling for that until the third "fact". Nice list. Oh, and you forgot
FACT: $150 extra isn't that much.

Has Nintendo ever had an "infamous disk-read error"? I've never had any longterm problem with anything Nintendo. All the problems I've had were my fault (batteries in wrong way.)

You guys did realize that I was continuing to be sarcastic there, didn't you?

I hate Sony's PS2 with all my guts, but I think the PSP will definitly beat the DS.
The idea of the DS is just plain asinine. What the hell do you need 2 screens for? It just mean that you'll be frustrated looking back and forth between screens.

Sony never has any new innovations. But then again, neither does Microsoft.

Actually my friend, Sony does innovate.
1) Beta
2) Mini-Disc Player
3) Most recently with Cell technology, they are going to break the Law of something or whatever, where the power of computers double every six months.
4) NEW DVD Video format

And to answer the question, I'm going to buy a DS. That little piece of machinery is badass. It's even backwards compatable with GBA games. How cool is that? Yeah, that's right, very cool. I love Sony and all, but with a possible $400 price tag, portable wars win will not.

MiniDisc? If you'd bought one you would've realized that it was a piece of crap. Ugh. ATRAC3. And you couldn't even transfer the songs back to a computer.

As for Cell, no one's gotten past Moore's Law, since he said it in the 60's.

--I'm going to get a DS.

Guess what? The PSP can't even watch one Lord of the Rings Movie. And, to even get those movies you need to buy them from Sony on a UMD Disc. If I'm going to have a long flight, I want something that will last more than 2 hours...It's not as good as an actual portable DVD player. Here's a test, make your hands in to a PSP shape, and then hold them there for two hours. See how fun it is? If I want DVD', I'm not gonna want to watch them while holding the screen up for two hours.

--A good feature, but not enough to be any use.

Why would you possibly want to listen to music on a PSP? My Ipod does it much better. I'm not a guy who just tosses mp3 into a gadget and calls it a music player.

If I want to play Playstation, I'll play it on my PS2, with my TV. The games aren't innovative, or new, they're just more of the same on a smaller screen with a worse control scheme. By comparison, the DS has backwards compatibility, a wide range of dev support, and new control inputs.

Have you heard about the wireless capabilities of the DS?

I totally agree with your every typed word. I was just tryin' to say something about Sony's innovativeness (if that's a word), which, they do innovate ...sort of. And Cell technology might be capable of breaking Moore's Law. DS is capable of wireless internet, but Nintendo won't do it... yet. Untill then, here's hopin' someone else will.

Not true. Besides, until Microsoft realizes that much more money can be made off dominating the hand held market, Sony and Nintendo are the two heavy weights, (even though the PSP isn't in the ring yet.)

Graceful remark, to say the least.

Anyway, due to PSP's 2 hour battery life and instead of a wireless connection you get a DVD player running on that 2 hours of battery life, I think the decision is hands down in the favor of the DS. Not only that but there's a better chance newer and more innovative games will be approaching the DS's future unlike the PSP's.

P.S. You wont see me running into a convenience store saying, "Clerk, I need more batteries?! My PSP's battery life is running short and Frodo's about to throw the ring in the fire!"

He'll respond, "Sir, you've had enough. This is your tenth time coming in for batteries in the last 6 hours. Go home, sir."

Interesting fact: For the LOTR Trilogy, you will need at least 9 batteries (if the PSP runs on the standard two AA batteries.) Most battery packs come in eights, just enough for you to curse Sony's name as you have to buy another pack to supply the last battery.

The possibilities of what they may be saying here are mind-blowing. If they really do get that to work, and that is what they mean, they will completely and utterly BURY the PSP. And will sell more DSes then we can possibly imagine.
And that marionette thing looks cool.
Does this remind anyone else of ilovebees?

I don't think the DS will "completely bury the PSP." There are still way to many 3rd parties that develop games for Sony over Nintendo. It's still unknown what will happen with the PSP, but in my opinion, Sony will sell a few hundred thousand, and realize that they will need to cut the price of the hardware, before they can make a dent in the handheld market, a.k.a. Nintendo's Domain.

2 Screens makes sense. It's fun. I've heard it almost beats the precision of keyboard and mouse, something no controller has yet to do.

You'd all be cheering if the PSP had a section for touch input...

GC is soooooooooooooo much better than PS2, my GC has only frozen on me once, and my PS2 has frozen on me 4 times. And the GC was only when I was playing it for 5 hours.

-blam!- both of those. Im waiting for a Microsoft portable. Think of it, Halo, everywhere. EVERYWHERE. Lets hope that microsofts portable has online capibility. Oh yea, PS2 kicks Kiddie-Cubes ass. This is my impression of a GC fanboy. 'Im going to play pikmin now instead of a nice mature rated game like GTA or Halo' . GC is only for metroid fans (like me) and littie chitlens

You think that you are so mature for trying to insult us, don't you? Well, you're not. Making fun of us "kiddies", eh? Do you like making fun of "little children"?

Newsflash- Halo ins't on the PS2. So bad example. And ask any Nintendo fanboy you come across if he likes Halo. I'm one of them, and my answer is yes. So would most of theirs. The Gamecube may have more E-rated games, but that doesn't make them any less fun. It's the same in the movie industry- a horror movie (the only ones they ever seem to have commercials for) is no more likely than a family movie to do well. It's actually less likely according to some studies. Try playing some of those "kiddie" games like Pikmin 2. You'll find that they are actually quite fun.
And just so you know, I'm fifteen. If you start attacking me personally for that, then I'll know that I should ignore you.
