Even if the number is 19% off (a 27% error), the Flood still holds a majority of activity on the forums. The stats don't have to be very accurate to show the point I was making. If you want numbers of just posts in each forum per hour (or longer), I could get those to you in a couple days or so if you want. It's not that hard.

Don't waste your time.
Don't worry about. I'm bored anyway. I can have numbers of 3 hours of activity for you in about 5 hours. Savvy?
And I have the numbers!

After 3 hours (4:30 to 7:30 CDT):
- The Flood had a total of 1735 posts, and 60 threads. This was good for a 90.98% of posts during that time, and 89.55% of the threads during that time.
- The Septagon was second with 95 posts and 2 threads. This was good for 4.98% of posts during that time, and 2.99% of the threads during that time.
- The Halo Reach Forum was third with 55 posts and 4 threads. This was good for 2.88% of posts during that time, and 5.97% of the threads during that time.

- Most surprising statistic: From 6:30 to 7:30 The Flood was the only forum to create new threads. It created 19.

So yes, as I was trying to show previously, The Flood is the major source of activity on the public forums.

Of course there is elitism. But these people who "look down" on other members based on titles is mainly because this is all they probably have to show for their miserable life.

I mean if my ONLY accomplishment in life was to be a Mythic Member, I'd be quite the jackass right? So there is your explanation Squirrel Dude, the elitists are just internet losers.

Just like Duardo said earilier (and I'm refusing to quote him just to against your hypothesis lol), everyone is equal on these forums except for ninjas and employees. Nobody has rights so play nice.

Step 8: Kill Th3 Invader

I've never noticed an elitist problem, with titles anyway. With attitudes and certain members certainly, but not because of titles. I don't respect a Mythic member more than I do a regular, or anything in between. I really like the system and how almost any two members can have different titles.

I just wanna keep being a Hero.

Your reasoning is wrong though. Achronos said he put it in just because it's fun. Now make a thread based on that revelation.

leave it to burrito to drop the first line of sense.
I only use my title against OBVIOUS trolls. That's it.
Its just fun to be able to say. Nice 2012 join date ect...

Nobody is actually an Elitist because of the title system, idiotic regular members, heroics, and legendaries just complain and complain and complain that the Elitism is present (even though it's not).

So true.

I like the title system as it displays a visual representation around the forums of members activity and behaviour.

I agree with this 100%, don't get me wrong I think the title system is cool.....but sometimes I would like to see it go cuse of this crap. I'm just tired of seeing thread after thread about titles.

I personally think, people who seek a useless title is just a tryhard.

My 50 cents.

I don't see how the title system hasn't worked. The system was created for us to have fun ranking up, and nothing more. I myself haven't seen the so called elitism or division among the community based on the title system in the four years that I've been on this site.

I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Just know that not all of us with higher titles are elitists.

Do you want a week of data, with each day broken down in 12 hour segments? I can do that if you want, but I don't think the results would be significantly different.

I think you got a type here. I think? I just can't understand what you're saying.

I think you're saying that The Flood is the largest minority of activity, not the majority of it?

I have a request! Do 2 years of data. If you pull that off then I won't feel that your data is crap. Come back to me when you have that done if not I'm not interested in you 3 hours/2 days datas. Thanks!

See, but data for that long of a period of time wouldn't necessarily be all that helpful. Those numbers would be informative, but they wouldn't be predictive, and that's an important part of any statistical analysis. If the numbers don't have any application they're not especially useful.

If you want it, I could do it. Just do once a month or a once a week checks, throwing numbers in an excel spreadsheet like I've been doing it. It's not much of a time commitment really. An our or so, once a week, at most?

If you want to do this, what month or week would you like to start? Obviously this would be a bad point in a month to start a monthly experiment, as over half the month has passed so the number of total posts and threads are even less likely to equal later months.

Titles are an interesting matter to which I have mixed feelings of.

The main beef I have with the current titles is that they reward adherence to the rules and continued membership. I consider both of these factors to be horrible, and earnestly feel they should not be promoted.

There's also all those funny little arguments of fallacious thinking behind authority and anyone perceived to be knowledgeable, but the same could be true of moderators and the like.

Users are users; we should not pretend they are anything more or less, or even try to falsely group them.

It seems that you like doing this kind of stuff so I say go for it. Just start in the beginning of September. We'll resume this conversation in two years.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Despite being professionally insulted at the start of this thread, I should point out that basing your arguments on this kind of evidence will not work out in your favor.

(that's because the system runs on a schedule, and when you first come off a ban, the system hasn't rechecked your account to see what your new trust value is minus the penalty from the ban - it just so happened that your account was updated an hour after you got off a ban. Short bans tend to not have deep penalties).

Look, it is okay if you don't like the titles. But don't base your argument on systemic details you know nothing about. Keep your thoughts on things like how it affects the community to have the titles, don't worry about the implementation details that you don't have. That's a much more interesting conversation to read anyway.

If they were all equal we'd be able to choose which one we wanted, and wouldn't go in a linear order.

You forgot more than a few thousand forums who I'm sure would like to suggest that they have a lot of activity that you might not be privy to.

I think groups are a pretty important part of this site, especially given the "dark" nature of Bungie game news.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with you - just correcting for observation bias.

I was a finalist :P

I personally think there should be a greater amount of positive incentive which comes with good behaviour other than titles themselves. It might cause even more of a deterrent to bad behaviour than what we currently have.

I guess the only problem is, is that it's extremely difficult to find something that the majority of the community will actually care about. And unless it's something which everyone will care about, your still probably going to face some of the problems which arise due to people not caring because there's nothing for them which comes with good behaviour.
