Subject: windows live and bungie profile

Hey all, I recently had my windowslive hacked and had to change my windowslive ID. I have the same gamertag and have a new email associated with it, etc. Im trying to link my GT with bungie again and the site says my bungie user name is "in use." So is it possible for me to reclaim my bungie name? (Or) Will my game history transfer if I create a new bungie name? Thanks!

Non-TLDR ppl, another site I use actually got hacked and the hacker got my windowslive info from there. I'm working on updating passwords and getting a new email address for all my sites. So please no non-helpfull comments like "just use a better password."

Since you didn't have your Windowlive ID anymore how did you switch the Email to your gamertag? I doubt that you'll be able to reclaim your Bungie.net username since you don't have the info for that account anymore.

I highly doubt that your profile was hacked. Was someone offering flames or recon?

Please, learn what "hacking" is before you make such a claim.

someone didn't read the last part. Yes it was "HACKED". The web site administrators emailed their users that the site was "hacked" and they put a hold on most of the user account. They sent out new passwords and an email informing everyone that they were updating their security.

Maybe someone should request more information before making himself look like a dumb(blam). Or are you another kind of dumb(blam) that just wants us to say 'cracker' as though that will justify illegal behavior? For the dumb(blams), thats rhetorical.

To start, you should NOT be using this 'other website.' You should not be giving ANYBODY your WLID or password. The only places you should ever be typing that are official websites (websites that DON'T actually read/ store the information) such as halo.xbox.com, Bungie.net, passport.net, and xbox.com.

Second, what the message means is that somebody already has an account with that name. They own it. You can't have it because it is theirs, sorry. You weren't too clear though, so perhaps I misunderstood your situation.

The site just lists my GT for "friends," but I used a similar password for xbox.com, so the perpetrator, ;), had my listed GT and guessed my password. You know for ex. rPasswordbo10001h vs wPasswordow10001e

The person with that account name is me, and it's locked due the the issues I had. I just created a new account and my game info transferred automatically to my new bungie.net profile, which was all I was asking.

google is your friend, forums have a higher failure rate.
