The CE Assault Rifle has spread. Not bloom. I find the thing utterly useless for everything but popcorn.
The accuracy of automatic weapons in Halo 1 does, in fact, degrade if you hold the trigger.
Granted, the system doesn't behave exactly like Reachs; bloom increases based on trigger-holding, not the actual shots being fired, so tapping your shots rather than holding the trigger does give you better accuracy for the same rate of fire. However, for all realistic intents and purposes, firing the AR in short, controlled bursts (or stacatto-shooting it) yields vastly superior accuracy.
