What if the term "Spartans never die, their only missing in action" had a whole conspiracy theory behind it where if a spartan never died because ONI or something sent a squad in to save them and just let the public presume the spartan dead but really ONI just but the spartans back into basic and had them play out as a marine secretly and rise to be a spartan again. Just wondering what other people thought of this idea.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Honestly, I never really thought about it in depth like that. I think all it means is that no matter what, they will always be remembered as the most important soldiers and defenders of humanity.

You have a good idea but this forum isn't the best place for this discussion. Try posting this in the Bungie Universe forum.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

Who would save a Spartan? If a SPARTAN is in a mission where it can't survive, how would a rescue team be able to survive the rescue mission?

The saying "Spartans never die, they're only missing in action." was for morale.
