Isn't that an odd title for a topic? Well, I hope it grabbed your attention. Around 20 minutes ago, I was searching Google Images for a picture of the Seventh Column to set it as my new Steam picture. I simply searched 'The Seventh Column'. As I browsed some rather terrible pictures, this caught my eye on page 5.

It didn't look anything like the seventh column, and I was intrigued. I clicked on the website link it originated from, to see how it related to my search. Read the third line of the text. It says "The movie, originally titled The Seventh Column..."

I was amazed. But like most people on this website, I needed to see it somewhere else to believe it. I searched the film on Wikipedia, and once again, it says that it was originally titled 'The Seventh Column.' on the third line of the second paragraph.

Now, this film was released in 1943, well before Jason Jones and Alex Seropian were born. Considering the Webmaster is dressed in a Gorilla (sounds the same as guerrilla) suit, could Bungie have a link to this movie somehow? Or is it just my superstition. What are your thoughts on this topic.

Coincidence.

This is a high possibility, but I still think it's amazing.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

Carelessness is sometimes referred to as the seventh column. Through the conduct of experiments, safety engineers work hard to prevent accidents and injuries associated with the seventh column. One such experiment is a simulation of highway driving. The test subject, Falstaff Pratt III, is provided a series of highway driving situations which may prove dangerous if not handled correctly. Most personal injuries occur in the home. Pratt may face the seventh column at home with smoking in bed, with a greased instead of waxed kitchen floor, with descending a poorly lit or poorly maintained steep staircase, or with an overcrowded shelf of materials. Seventh column workplace accidents can also happen to Pratt. The safety engineer's work may prevent many of Pratt's falls, which may benefit Pratt even if he is considered the Indestructible Man.
The more you know.

It's curious that it means "carelessness". I've never heard of that association. I wonder why that's the case. I do figure that's where this Chetniks movie's original title is referring to, however. Same year. Must be something heavily to do with WW II, though I can't figure out what. Definitely fits with the whole "Underground Army" thing that Bungie penned the Seventh Column to be.

Edit: circles and roundabouts.

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

A bit of something (warning: a little graphic with the fake blood. It's a red cross poster) I came up with while looking more into the origin of the 7th column. Definitely seems to be based in WWII and in regards to preventing accidents among troops.

Perhaps Bungie is trying encourage us to be more careful when we partake in the community as to limit ban casualties.
