Well, SplinterCell: Pandora Tomorrow hardly lags at all over live, even when there's a lot of action going on. With that in mind, plus tweaks to XBL, I don't think lag will be a major problem. I dunno, it might be very slight all the time or have flare ups, but I don't think that will ruin the game.
Look how many people play Halo PC, that's the most lag-tastic thing I've ever played. ('Course I stopped playing because I got sick of lag, but a lot of other people have kept up with it)

About PT being lagless, it does only support 4 players, which has a major impact on lag. If Halo 2 supports 16 or even MORE, then lag could be an issue. But I'm sure Bungie will have it in tip top shape for launch. I can't wait to play.

bah

I don't think lag will be an issue at all. Any ping under 100 is easy to play with, and I hear the pings on XBL are really small. Anything over 200 and killing people becomes hard, and killing skilled people is all but impossible. If I had a decent connection, I'd only play with a ping under 100, and braodband is a decent connection that acerages less than 100 most of the time, so I don't think it will be a problem.

Lag should not be a problem at all. If you noticed in all the demos that Bungie did at E3, they were all networked. It was not system linked. They did this to prove yet another point, that they want to create the feeling that there people you are playing with on LIVE are sitting right next to you. That means no lag. AND if you read any of the write ups that the various websites have posted about there "hands on" test play of Halo, you will notice that most of them say that they never once felt like they were playing a networked game. They all said it was seamless and smooth.

So in short...lag is not going to become and issue. It will however become a n00bs favorite excuse why he just got owned...kinda of like XBC...but we all know lag exists big time on XBC. XBL and Halo 2 will be smooth as a babies ass.

Oh and can we make a poll that makes some sense....it is pretty stupid to ask a question and then not give logical answers in the poll.

well most people who have xbl have at least a broadband connection but lag might be an issue when it concerns people who live overseas because of the distance
i have broadband but i was banned by the HBO COERCE server because i had high ping since i live in hong kong
so i do hope microsoft can reduce lag
