I like Cheese

If there's one thing I love about /v/, is the [spoiler]<insert text here[/spoiler]
and whenever roaming over the text, the text is shown.
I think this is a good idea and Bungie should incorporate it whenever they update their site.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

Sure, why not? It's helpful and people tend to appreciate it.

This Idea, I like.

Edit:

It is on the list of desired features.

Unrelated, but also on the list - sarcasm tags.

No promises, though.

I would like a spoiler tag in the next site update. It would be awesome!!!!

[spoilers]Well, it's already implemented into bungie.net. Not that many people know about it though. [/spoilers]
BB code markup glitches are not really an "implementation." Besides that, it's a pain in the ass to have to hit the reply button just to see what you wrote. I think the OP was talking about something more along the lines of the "click here to see spoilers" features on other sites.

Even so, there's still a possibility of a accidental hover with your mouse.

I would suggest a spoiler post more similar to what Evageeks has, where there's a button on the users post, and when they click it, the spoiler post is revealed. Kind of like how the "More" button works for signatures and other stuff, only it would be for spoilers, and it would be in the post it self.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

That is one of the few features Halo Waypoint has that is good, could be useful here.

True, I would personally like to see it something like GAF, where if just blacks out the text, but when you highlight it, it shows the spoiler. Very simple.

If you're a Ninja, would it salmon out the text?

I didn't even know that existed.

That is possibly the worst spoiler tag system I have ever seen.

Hover over black bar to reveal text should have been on this site a long time ago.

Yes Costco. I need a 50lb bag...I mean sack of sugar.

Or the forum rule could be followed and spoilers are clearly marked.

Just sayin. Not against the idea, just sayin.

Curious, curious indeed! Although here is a sample of what I'm talking about. Just highlight the black to see the text.

It's because it was never intended to be a spoiler tag as Foman pointed out. Just a glitch another member found. There really isn't one for bungie.net right now.

Yeah, as I thought, the text over there is black, so while they use a blackout, we'd need a whiteout for normal members, a salmonout for ninjas, and a goldout for employees.

Honestly I'd prefer something more useful like a collapsable spoiler window that would allow us to show and hide text. I could imagine it would have applications in certain threads beyond simply hiding spoilers.

I would like to see a [purposefully implimented] spoiler feature, along with a quick quote button on thread posts.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Active 9/1/11, Heroic 12/25/12

I love hover over spoiler tags, the current ones are pretty bad.

  • 08.23.2012 12:20 PM PDT

I'd like an actual spoiler system.

Also, inb4 this thread gets filled with URL tag exploit spoiler tags.

It's like a fortune cookie, but with Salmon and potatoes. As you eat the Salmon, the text beneath is revealed...
