Subject: The Cycle Of Threads Here.

Spread the love...

In the past year or two I've noticed a Cycle to the threads posted here. Now, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of threads that are not in this cycle, but this is the majority (in my opinion):

-thread about member titles
-thread about new feature (changing username, sent messages, etc)
-popularity thread
-thread about account age
-thread about forum ninjas
-a couple more threads that I've forgotten

Anyway you get the general idea. In fact, even THIS THREAD is part of the cycle. So...what do you think of this Cycle? I didn't check the Community much before the Darkness so I don't know how it was before but do you think the Cycle will be broken once we enter the Light? Or are we forever doomed to this miserable wheel of death?

The cycle will always exist. Be it war, disease, movement of the ice caps, rotation of our planet...it's all so cyclical. And that isn't so bad, really. While the topics on this site are somewhat familiar, we still see so much variety. We see new members, we see new games...and all of that is cyclical!

It'll be just like when H3 and Reach came out. We saw a new wave of members. Then we saw some disappear. It'll all happen all over again.

The circle of life worked for some lions in a Disney movie, and it all worked for them.I'm content with it, man.

Yeah that's also what I was wondering...is the Cycle even bad? I mean, it gets repetitive and sometimes boring but it's slightly different every time...

See my edit. The circle of life worked for the lion king. And everyone loves the lion king.

Goes without saying. That's the best part of the cycle.

And X vs. Y threads.

  • 08.24.2012 12:24 AM PDT

Let's not forget these generalities as well:
-thread about other user's ban history
-thread about hypothetical question of "If you were a Ninja/Overlord..."
-thread about thanking Bungie or the Ninjas
-thread about conspiracy with the number 7 or some other Bungie symbol/history/fact
-thread about possible changes to the site

I'm not saying all of the above threads are not worth discussing. But they are just part of the "cycle".

Chicken go cluck cluck cow go moo

If someone ever states that a thread is pointless just because its been done many times in the past, then they are just silly (And I want to pinch their cheeks). A thread is easier to ignore than it is to reply to.

My advice: get over it.

And you forgot Community Projects, theres always something new.

Welcome to the town of "Diligence." I'm Mayor Due.

Well, that seems right for the main forums. But that is where the groups come in I'm guessing. If you find like minded people you'll gravitate there. The rules of these main forums limit the discussion somewhat, I suppose.

The comedy is always fresh though.

My advice: get over it.

People apparently have a hard time with this. As if their entire existence is confined to the repetitive discussions of this forum.

Well. It's been a year since the darkness fell onto the community. So, what are we suppose to talk about? Besides Bungie's next game that hardly anyone knows about. I think a lot of things will change when the hawtness arrives, one being the quality and originality of threads.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

We'll always have that cycle.
At least it gives us threads to post in to pass the time.

It usually does when your the top of the food chain.

This cycle has a name.

You're the reason the Depression was so depressing.

"If only, if only,"
The woodpecker sighs,
"The bark on the trees was as soft as the skies."
While the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely;
Crying to the moon,
"If only, if only."

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Don't forget the threads users make about taking images from Bungie and adding cartoons from paint to them to alter the image to make something that was never there.
