Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

I'm used to this, why does it have to change so much?
Are you for or against it?

The forums haven't changed in over five years. New features and technologies have come out since then.

A lot of people are just wanting something new.

Not all of those new technologies are good. I like Bungie.net because it is so diffrent than other forums.

I am unable to post a custom image of anykind, I can't make my text invisible, there are no emoticons, and this place isn't linked to facebook, for example. Those are great features of this site and one of the reasons why the place is so popular.

So you like having less customisation and less usability. That's fine, but there are plenty of other people who want the exact opposite.

But if ANY of them are good, then wouldn't that either necessitate or influence change of some sort?

There is a reason I am rarely on this website anymore. One is no new content, the other is the same look and feel.

True, true. But being able to change the color of your text at whim and being unrestricted in what images you can post are very important.

With one I can hide what I am saying and people must highlight everyone's words to ensure that they know what is being said. It can also cause plenty of confusion.

With the other we can have actual images of meatspin on here before the moderators can do anything about it.

Those are the two I will protest until I don't care about this place anymore. Those two features should not be added.

I think the Bungie's webteam is more than capable to know what changes are good and what not, trust our webmasters.

I like it here just the way it is, It has a homey feeling to it. The mods are reasonable and always give us a little slack. I think if anything maybe just some more pictures for forum avatars... maybe a new contest for avatars?

But we can get new and more shiny stuff!

  • 08.24.2012 11:03 PM PDT

Posted by: Arbiter 739I wouldn't consider any of those to be "technologies", but anyway...

Image posting could definitely work here, but only if it were accessible as a privilege.

But that leaves me with a problem. I either assume the people in charge know what is best for the whole or I assume that they would benefit from input from people who are affected by it.

When ideas are suggested my first priority is to pinpoint areas that things can go wrong. Being able to change the color of your text and post images is the big one I'm against because it would have a hugely negative affect to my foruming experience. Sorry if I come across as someone who just hates change.

What do you mean, exactly? Bungie employees have the ability to post them (I think if you use [img] to post an image the preview and final version always comes out as "[image removed]"). Are you suggesting that moderators be able to post images too or someone as high a rank as Mythic?

Change can be good or bad, maybe even both. Saying you're against change is like saying you opposed to the passage of time. But this is irrelevant, as what must be weighed is not change, but the changes that take place themselves.

Will this change make our website better then it once was? I would presume so, as Bungie is a successful company made up of enterprising individuals; the Webteam, whose agenda includes making this next site update as beneficial as possible, I believe to be no exception to this.

At some stage, when an account can be trusted enough, it should have the ability to post images.

I like the layout, I see no need for that part to change, but I would like to see new features added that have been supported by the community. Of course, Destiny support would also be added!
