"Sometimes life gives you lemons, and then you have to say 'f**k the lemons' and bail."
If you're reading this, you need to stop stalking me. If you can't stop stalking me, you might as well go here.
I wonder the same kind of thing regarding Noble Team, OP, and a lot of it stems off of this:when there was about a dozen Marines with him..."Did they really need a Spartan to do that?
Did an armored super soldier that took billions of dollars to train, equip, and augment really have to stay behind to press a button to sabotage a Covenant corvette?
Were all of the marines dead? Why do all of the marines end up dying when fighting alongside Spartans? If they didn't die, couldn't they have looked around and asked, "Is there anyone here who doesn't have much to lose, isn't a cyborg death-dealing machine, and would like t die a hero?"
Same goes with Emile and Noble Six; couldn't one of the marines accompanying Captain Keyes have gotten out and manned the gun? It's not like they had to take on Covenant infantry or anything. Sure, maybe their armor wouldn't have withstood the plasma barrage by the waves of phantoms, but if we go by novel lore and not adjustments made for gameplay, a Spartan wouldn't have lasted very long either.
I wonder how different the Battle of Installation 04 would have been had the UNSC used their vital personnel for equally vital and suitable objectives.
Also, what if Kat had survived? Do you think she would have accompanied Carter, Emile, and Six to the Pillar of Autumn, or would she have gone with Jun to escort Halsey to CASTLE Base?
Personally, my money goes on Halsey. Tactically, another Spartan gives Jun and Halsey more of a fighting chance, and Kat's place as Noble's de facto tech expert seems like it would be of more use in Halsey's company.
How would she have effected the events in First Strike? Would she have (presumably) died alongside Jun, or would she have stayed back as Halsey's personal guard? If the latter, how would that have played into the ship to ship combat in the warped slipspace bubble, or Unyielding Hierophant?
Would more S-IIs be alive?
Anyway, it's a lot of 'what-ifs,' and there really isn't any point in dwelling on them, but why not?
