I have read these post and noticed one thing no one has come up with an appropriate solution to the sword problem! (mabey bungie has but thats beside the point
....

I have though of a solution:

1) Make the Sword have ammo (life,energy,use,ect.)



2) Make the Sword some how Counterable (mabey your shield woud run out of energy firts before it enters the body and makes a wound....the when that happpens you could hit B and turn around and stun the attacker...

3) Make the sword only one hit killable if you are locked onto the head for more then like 2 secs (or 3)

4) Make the sword less power ful to body blows...(mabey)

And the sword is NOT overpowered, you're a noob if you don't know how to beat it as it is.

Level 10, you mean like MM level, that wouldn't solve anything?! Plus it wouldn't work for lan or splitcreen, I'll just pretend you didn't say that one.. Anyway, I've come up with a "fix" for the sword, along iwth h2 MP in general, for brevitys sake, I'll just post the sword part.

Just a few changes need to be made here since with every gun killing much faster than in halo 2, it’s nearly balanced as is. First thing it now has an ammo counter, 5 lunges or 10 swings. Secondly you can only lunge while on the ground, but if you lunge and are not longer touching the ground, he’ll keep going. Other than that, it’s about balanced. Remember though, you can no longer just pull it out and lunge, you have to go through the opening animation

wow i love how ppl cry about the sword and then they will do somthing like pick the rockets or noob combo up, or even better start to use the bxr just because u suck to much to kill the sword doesnt mean bungie should change it

The sword is perfect the way it is. Stop whining about it, there are quite a few combos that can kill a sword man before he has a chance to get you. If you get owned by the sword, its probably because you didn't think, and walked around that corner without a plan.

Just make it less likely to hit...Like if you were to sidestep in a certain time period, and depending of the angle etc. the chance of hit will either be greater or lower

I think the sword just needs to have an energy level like in SP, it defiantly shouldn't be unlimited like it is now. I to this day can't seem to figure out how bungie thought making it unlimited made it more balanced. Other then that there shouldn't be any other changes, and its not hard to counter it now, just strafe right and pray.

I say take that dumb, cheesy lunge out. I don't care if it lasts forever, as llong as its a melee weapon only (like a sword should be). I've never dreamt of a sword being able to lock onto to something.....I mean, I understand the tech. and purpose of rockets locking on, but a sword? Since when does a sword have the homing capabilities of a missle?

but that has nothing to do with this topic

anyway but its still pretty messed up if omebody waits around the corner and kills you....ya know

Sword shouldn't change at all..

All the other guns (yes, even Halo 2's "Half Weapons"..SMg..PR...Needler) all need an upgrade in firepower.

If everything is stronger, Sword = Everything. Well, not really, but every gun has it's ups and downs, and it won't be impossible to get a kill with a smaller weapon than your opponent has. It owuld make Halo 3 require far more skill than Halo 2 did..but keep it fun.

Auto aim should also be drastically reduced (think Halo CE style), but keep reticule magnetism.


How will dual wielding be tweaked, so it's not even more overpowered than it is now? The answwer is simple:

When you have two weapons, they both become 2x as innacurate, and recoil is also increased by 2x. You will also need to reload both guns seperately. Also, it will still have hardly any auto aim (like Halo CE's), and will be incredibly innacurate..but powerful..

And all the weapons don't need to be ruined again, to introduce a new feature (dual wielding)

Only noobs can't kill a sword guy. When I first started playing Halo 2 online I would go on rampages with the sword on Midship. But now that I play with people who are much better that hardly ever happens. This is probably because noobs don't realize that the sword can only kill you if you get to close.

This idea isnt yours, it is as old as time itself. Yeh most people who know about balance want ammo for the sword and to all you fools who think we hate the sword 'bec0z we suxxor' then you need to wake up. It is a travesty of a joke of a weapon.

Lesson learned. Don't use the sword if your a newb.

oh and if you'r whining about the sword, it's coz you get owned by people, just like SD, who have a sword, and over kill you.
And if your calling the person with the sword a n00b, and yet he's killing you "Here, There and EveryWhere" that would make you lower than n00b. right?

I do think the sword should have ammo, but it should also respawn just as fast as any other weapon. As for "the lunge", that's what makes the sword so effective. Without it the sword would be useless. I say keep the lunge, just make the sword degenerative. And by the way, the guy with the sword is not invincible. Just stop running straight at him with an SMG and getting mad because he kills you!!

or simply slow the melee atacks and not 1hit-death even while you run
fatal melee only when you hit in the back of the target

I think the sword should be a limited charge weapon like in the campaign.

And no, I'm not 'crying' about swords because "Tehy pwn j0000", but because it needs a bit more balancing.

I have answers to all ur problems-

1) The sword already has ammo in campaign mode.

2) This statement defeats the purpose of the sword

3) The sword is pretty much one hit killable to any body part if executed right

4) This one just sucks (no offense), ur just not confident enough about ur statement

In summary, I just dont agree with you. Sorry
