Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

You just accurately described how things work. Foman, Evilcam and I are 3 different people, we see things differently, we act differently, we respond differently. That's a fact.Exactly. That answers the OP's question on why the thread wasn't removed right away. Someone had a different opinion on whether or not it should stay alive.
Exactly.
And that is how our hosts want it. They have a diverse team, all entrusted and all who respect and trust each other to make decisions that are "right from their perspective" and be able to explain and justify their reasoning.
If they tried to make a team of clones, it would fail miserably and people would be complaining about micro-differences.
In your scenario...Moderation on these forums is incredibly random. I can make a violating thread and either get a warning from Foman, a 3-day ban from evilcam, or a 14-day ban from Recon. There's no definite answer to what moderation measure would be used in my situation. Hell, someone could just lock the thread and not hand me any punishment.
The issue isn't the fact that 3 moderators might react in 3 different ways. The issue is that you decided to make a violating thread. That's the problem. If you make the choice to violate the rule, you should accept any and all outcomes of it (none, mild, harsh, unreasonable). YOU are the one who creates the situation, complaining that the outcome isn't homogeneous is silly.
