I still think we should have a public forum for politics. :P

It will be hot topic when Mods are away, THEN it will turn into a lock icon when they come back.

Moderator bias. Simple as that. I can go deeper into this, but I really really don't feel like arguing with people in "this" forum right now...

No it wouldn't. It's a political forum, therefore political topics would be allowed and locking them wouldn't be necessary like it would be in The Flood. Do you even think about what you say before you say it?

If it was breaking the rules since the beginning, by now it would be lock, but as you can see, it hasn't.

So maybe you may think it breaks the rules but it doesn't.

Still it can be locked anytime.

It's been locked now.

Aw, that's cute how you ignore people who choose to not subscribe to your absurd ideas and ridiculous logic.

OT: Still not sure why this thread was needed; this is like school-yard level taddling. It's to the point where it affects you so little that I can't even fathom why you've made it.

Do you know why we have that rule? Because political discussions usually end in flaming, much like when you resorted to saying "Do you even think about what you say before you say it?" out of frustration.

I'm not frustrated. Far from it. I've seen lots of political discussions go very well and seen very few go very poorly. So I guess I just don't see your point of view on this from an anecdotal standpoint.

What, because I can follow a pattern of how moderators typically moderate, their opinions on specific issues, and the way they post gives me absolutely no right to make any judgement or lightly-assigned assumption on what measures they would take in specific situations?

You see, this is the reason I didn't want to post here. Not because Recon or any other mod would respond either.

Edit: Now that I'm noticing all the hostility in your recent posts, I'm beginning to question how close-minded you really are...

I'm not hostile nor am I closed minded. I just don't see how you can assume that this particular situation is a product of moderator bias when it's just as equally likely that they just plain didn't see the thread.

So are we random, are we predictable, or are we biased? You're trying to have it at least 3 ways.

We are not identical, I admit that as a fact. We are consistent as possible to our own personal standards. That is at the request of our superiors. That means that we're not going to be identical, but we will try to be consistent individually.

Why is that a problem? If a rule is broken, why is the focus on the discipline (how much, why, to what extent, etc.) and not on the fact that someone intentionally violated the rules and knowingly "rolled the dice" when it came to the consequences?

So, what is it please?

Inconsistency? (I admit it, but call it personal differences and diversity)
Predictability of an individual? (I admit that, and call THAT consistency)
Bias? (The fact that I am not a clone of Foman, TU, Duardo, or any of my colleagues? Again, that's the cards we're dealt my friend)

Other than you're not happy (that much is clear) can you PLEASE explain what the problem is as you see it?

If you're not frustrated, then why would you consciously ask a rhetorical question that can be taken as nothing but an insult and adds nothing to discussion?!

Because I legitimately have no idea how he's coming up with all of this, and the rest of my post DID add something to the discussion. If the entirety of my post was a rhetorical and rude sentence, phrase, or idea, then that'd lend some credence to your suggestion of my frustration. But that is not the case.

All I was trying to say is that the locked threads theory didn't make much sense to me, and that it was yet another in a long line of ideas from the OP that I didn't agree with and didn't understand how he came up with.

There shouldn't be any "wait and see" with these threads cause they always turn out the same. It's an issue that The Flood will just never be able to handle and should never be allowed.

Yes they can, and yes it should.

I've seen lots of excellent discussion about same sex marriage that wasn't against any rules. There are lots of threads about it because it is a major social issue that we are dealing with as a society right now. It's the same thing with any other 'trending topic' (furries, bronies, Justin Bieber, Halo 4 etc.). Trying to ban all discussion of the subject is not going to make it go away.

Yes, because for some reason people are getting upset over a handful of mods not doing the 'job' they're supposed to do, while they can be the better man to report and move on. That's all we can do, so we must live with it.

@Helveck

Just an Average Joe...

Recon, you should really spend less time posting here, and more time making sure rule-breaking thread and posts don't go unpunished.
