I tried contacting support on xbox.com and they told me to go here and they just kept on insisting on going here.

Кланяються мені!

Funny that you would be directed here by Xbox Live support when here is exactly where you shouldn't be. You want 343i. They control all online Halo 3, Reach, ODST related information.

I'm doubting that, Bungie has been out of the Halo business for quite some time...Unfortunately you need to submit your inquiry to halo.xbox.com

You best head to the Waypoint forums as 343 controls everything Halo now.

Interesting, still, you need to head over to Waypoint to deal with this issue, Bungie can't do anything.

Just a side note, telling them that "if I can't get unbanned I'm done with xbox" is really pointless, they are unphased.

I usually don't post in these type of threads but it seems that you got some moron at xbox support. I highly doubt that Bungie can do anything about your ban even if they wanted to.

This might help you figure out why you got banned.

Glenn: It does not really matter Redmon the team will view all topics and all issues regardless.
ha ha bwahahhahahah like they have time to do that.

Also these quotes might help. *gets quotéballs*

A few points to again correct the massive lack of truthiness here.

1. There are two kinds of bans. One is a matchmaking ban. These are what Bungie gives via the automatic banhammer. No user input is part of this. The other is a total Xbox Live ban - these are done via Xbox Live and often are affected by feedback and complaints given in the dashboard. We don't handle those, and you can stop talking about them here.

2. Very few people are getting banned.

3. We aren't banning for lag.

4. We are banning for repeated bandwidth manipulation events - dropped connections, standby, ip flooding, among other things. The important point here is that these things do NOT normally occur, especially over long periods of time. And while they can occur withou the user intending for it to happen, it still sucks for all players they play with. Remember, we're not banning based on intent - we ban based on cold logic: literally, a query against a specific set of criteria.

5. Again, matchmaking bans involve nothing but your game data - Xbox Live's status and/or feedback do NOT affect it in any way.

Can we please all calm down now? Nobody is getting banned who shouldn't, and the number of people getting banned is TINY.

Posted by: Achronos
Uh, there is LOTS of evidence. These aren't manual bans, these are us programming a mathmatical set of criteria into our database query, and having the system apply bans to those that meet the criteria. It isn't arbitrary, it is fair, logical, and very effective.

Posted by: Achronos
Network manipulation is one of the things that the banhammer does deal with. For example, the game linked above, several of the players have been banned from hosting games for some time, and one of them (probably the primary culprit in that little group, at least at that time) got a nice matchmaking ban. I didn't check the red team, though. I've often wondered how much money people have spent in new accounts and Xboxes to get around bans (don't buy used Xboxes, people - it is possible they're on sale because they've been banned).

Dealing with cheaters is never fun, but we liberally apply both account and machine bans where the data warrants such bans - and no, I'm not talking about just the stuff you can see on bungie.net. We also regularly look at the data manually to make sure our rules for bans are good and if they are working as we expect.

This thread has a lot of info also, just skip to the guy with the gold font. He posted multiple times in that thread answering questions.

I'm not sure how relevant these quotes are anymore. I don't think 343 did any changes to the hammer. So I'm guessing they are relevant.

Key

What an incredibly idiotic agent. You'd think they would know the actual situation before they inform people about who to contact for help in any given situation. Unless that was a bot, which it seems like it was. In which case, well done Microsoft, you lost at least 3 more respect points.

Good lord, someone over at Microsoft needs to send out the memo about Bungie not controlling Halo all over again; that was some of the most idiotic "customer service" I've ever seen.

Bungie is no longer managing the Halo Universe. While our Halo-related forums and stats remain available, be advised that "official" answers and support about the Halo Universe (past, present, or future) are not.

Go to halo.xbox.com for official Halo support.

This post, it must be made of magic.

That was the worse agent ever. They obviously have no idea what they're talking about.

Go to http://halo.xbox.com to report the issue you have. At the same time, you may want to report the XBL agent for their lack of knowledge and incompetence.

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I think he meant his internet connection.

OT: I don't know if I should believe this story. If you had taken screenshots instead of copy/pasting the conversation, I would be more inclined to consider it credible. And yes, I know screenshots can be photoshopped, but a lot of the time there is a tell-tale sign of image manipulation.
