Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.
There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!
Maybe I am just reading too much into it, but if Halo 3 is the grand finale that everyone is expecting it to be, then me personally am expecting 3 things to happen:
1) The Master Chief saves the Universe and in consequence to that Earth with his death
2) Prior to that, he relizes that he needs to fight his way to the Ark's core and destory the AI thats controlling it (Cortana)
and 3) Sgt. Jonhnson saluting Master Chief's body as the cloned Spatan army develped by Dr. Halsey when she kidnaped Kelly, are destorying the Flood
Why do i think these events are going to happen?
Due to the reason that Bungie are not going to hold back in making this ending as emotional and as grand as humanly possible. The Master Chief has grown on me, since his first training session with his fellow Spartans at his young age, up to losing his team in the seemingly endless war against the Covenant, to destorying the first Halo ring, to leaving Cortana on the Covenant city, to his reapearence in Earth to finish the fight.
Its as almost as we have bled with him, felt his every emotion, his every psysicall and emotional scar, step by step living this story through his eyes, and the most grieving thing that Bungie can do is to take this away from us, taking away a soldier and a friend.
I know I must sound -blam!-, but whilst I am typing this I am listing to "Before the Dawn" by Judas Priest, so I am wrtting this as a tribute to the Master Chief, the best character that I have the chance to follow, to live with, share his story, and I promise that I will do so until the very end.
Its the least I can do, its the least that we can all do.
