O_O you looked at your friends balls when "he" sat on your head O_o

like last year, im going to be gone for a few months for the summer. i know some accounts have been deleted due to inactivity, but how can i keep my account while im away?

The only thing you can do is log on to keep your account. If you don't have access to the internet at all while you are away and you really want to keep your account, give your login information to a trusted friend just to login once... or something. That could be very risky though... so forget that. You won't be around a computer for more than 3 months?

  • 06.21.2006 6:46 AM PDT

wait, 3 months? What happened to 6?

  • 06.21.2006 7:18 AM PDT

Y'know what, you might be right sir_brilliant. I always get confused between the thread auto-lock and account deletion. Yeah, it should be 6 months... I guess...

Phrog pilots, reckless and free. We would strap into our birds, set the engines on fire, and leave these earthly bonds with a chorus of WHOP WHOP WHOP. Akin to beating your chest and howling in defiance at the rest of the world.

...or is an account deleted after three months of inactivity and the name can be reused after six?

Too many possibilities. Head asploding.

I think you can reuse the name once the account is removed (note "I think").

Just to make things simpler to remember, everything should go like this: 77 days for account to be removed, 7 months for a thread to be indefinitely locked, 7 is darker...

Edit due to some grammar mistake somewhere at sometime.

Alrighty... from just looking at old pages of The Septagon, I'm pretty sure that it is 120 days for an account to be deleted since this was the first thread I found in The Septagon with Anonymous User (Deleted) as the author. That was on 2/17/2006, 124 days ago.

So, do you plan on being away for about 4 months?

Try to log on a friends computer or have them take you to a Public Internet Cafe'. Unless you are going to the moon getting online should be no problem. Heck even the rebles in Bagdad and Kabul have access to the internet, it shouldn't be that hard anymore.

What about when you sign in you have the option on "save my email address and password" thing? I use that and I never have to use the sign in button. Wouldn't that keep you logged on?

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

We talked about this not too long ago, it's 4 months for deactivation, 6 months for deletion (the name can be used again).

So yeah, you have four months. Personally, I would get a friend to log in for me. But I guess that's up to you. Depending on where you are going, many public libraries have computers that you could use to log in once during the summer. But if it's only a summer trip, you should clear it by a month, anyways.

Everyone else has already answered enough...

1. Get a friend to log in

2. Get near a computer once in your three-month {or whatever} trip

3. Make a new account when you get back

Of course, i haven't seen the answer anyways...the best way to do this is to ask the man.

120 days. It will soon change to 365 days, but not for another few weeks.

Issue solved.
