Why did everybody's opinions on Reach change? I remember the really old threads like this one that actually talked about how good it is. Did your opinions change, or did all of the old community dissapear and you guys replace them?

All the kids that liked Reach moved to Waypoint.

Reach has always been met with hatred on the forums. Where have you been? Armor Lock, Jetpack, and the bloom of the DMR are some of the most hated additions to any Halo game to date. One used to not be able to look at the front page without seeing a thread complaining about one of them.

I never minded Reach, personally. It's a great game, especially post TU. Either way, however, it's never been universally loved by any means.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

Reach was not met with criticism immediately because people thought Bungie would eventually change the disliked features. Instead, Bungie and later 343 would later give us the middle finger, and shut us out almost completely and refused to change a thing.

What are you talking about? It's the other way around. They removed AL from many playlists and Drop Shield from pretty much all of them, and then further nerfed AL in the TU which also gave us reduced and zero bloom options.

This and the only reason Bungie did so little is because they were busy transitioning Halo over to 343. They didn't have time to test the game for a full title update, and they did what they could with the settings they had for "classic" playlists and such.
