Subject: Bungie.net Account Access History

Some social or email companies allow users to see their account access history that may include mobile device, browser, pop, imap or IP addresses.

I was wondering if Bungie could implement that functionality into bungie.net which will allow users to see their own account access history and take appropriate action if they see questionable activity. This is just an idea I wanted to propose to Bungie.

What do you think? Do you think there would be any benefit from it?

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

If somebody is signing in into your account, they'll most likely change the password and you'll know that somebody is signing on to your account. If you are already having that problem, don't leave your account signed on.

If someone were signing into your account, it would mean they have control over the Gamertag and Microsoft Account as well. In which case you would want to talk to Microsoft about any concerns rather than Bungie.

As it stands, Achronos can see where an account has been accessed- he told me where my account was accessed from a couple years ago when I had a security scare which was nice of him. But I don't think he wants to hand that out freely in regular circumstances either...

Especially considering if somebody DID get your account, poof they now know exactly where you are. Eh.

thou shall not smite thee. thou shall smite thi with gluteus maximus fire.

yea if somone is signing onto your account then you may need to write to achronos

I spend too much time here.. too much time indeed.

I tweet?

The only benefit I could see from this is if you didn't know someone was using your account, which is highly unlikely in most circumstances and if that happens it's often because the user has abandoned the account.

At most this would just allow anyone to confirm their suspicions that they're account has been accessed by a third party. However, any time you have such a suspicion you should change your password and any other security measures immediately. If problems persist you then should contact those whom you have an account with to get things taken care of.

In my personal opinion it's not really worth it.

Also, about 8 out of 10 times an account has had unauthorized third party access it's the user's fault.

Ohh it has happened before, phishing sites have gotten normal users as well as a Forum Ninja. The forums were hell for a little while.

MUCH easier to find, if one were dedicated to finding it.

Don't post your password. I'm hoping Eagle was just being facetious.

Not necessarily.

Among other ways, it could be as simple as someone using your iPhone/Android (which has the Bungie.net app installed) without your knowledge or consent.

Something like what GMail has could be useful.

Accounts have to be stolen before implementing access logging?

Wow.
