PLEASE IGNORE THE POLL. I HAVE EDITED MY POST AND DOES NOT APPLY TO MELEE ANYMORE IT APPLIES TO AN ACTION BUTTON.
The idea is this:
You can still melee but it wouldn't intant kill, however using the X button similar to boarding vehicles, instead of a one hit kill, you can steal your opponents primary weapon forcing them to switch to their secondary weapon and leaving them shieldless thus disrupting their engagement, or if not in combat at least somewhat disorientating them, yet not eliminating their chance to retaliate.
The following is an EDIT:
Picture this scenario:
An unwitting opponent runs by you without notice. You run up behind him and as you push the action button you animate similar to boarding a vehicle. He has a BR, in animation you reach to his side, bat down the battle rifle while grabing it with your right hand, your left arm comes back up from the bat and elbows him across the face, all this happens in a matter of a second. At this point his sheild is down and your left face to face. You take one shot to the head and he goes down before he can say "wort, wort, wort."---- NOW THAT'S AN ASSASINATION!
But you have to be careful because if his secondary weapon is a rocket launcher or something else dreadful he can pull his trigger before you get the head shot and blow you to bits. What if he doesn't have a secondary weapon, now weaponless he can perform a lunge forward attack similar to the sword lunge to take his weapon back leaving you with no shield and busts a head shot and your dead. NOW THAT'S SKILL not a "back wack attack."
Now of course each scenario is different and would require some thinking on your behalf and strategize more. I believe this is the essance of battle tactics, evaluating your situation and acting accordingly.
What do you think? Have any other ideas on this?
