Friends, no.
Uneasy allies, yes.
It's hard to just forget about 30+ years of vicious fighting....

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

Probably not, not enemies, but not allies either.

I wish you could speak English, if your from a foriegn country im sorry. If you live in any country where English is the basic language spoken then you really having something to do with your free time.

I know what you mean with the cats, and I'm feeling the same way about dogs too right now (just trashed my bathroom).

But nevertheless, that might make the Elites more openminded about siding with humans. But humans won't care why Elites were fighting, they'll just think, "Oh, they just spent the last 30-40 years trying to EXTERMINATE us, and they've done a fairly good job of it too. I lost my family to those overgrown squids!"
Yeah. Now I'm hungry for calamari. Any takers?

Lots of people like cats. Perhaps we can learn from this, people like what they see regardless of others, I'm sure some covies feel the same way. Remember the end of Halo1 of legendary?

As of right now, the only elites actually allied with johnson and miranda is the arbiter and all the elites present at the battle with tartarus.

While master chief understands that there is a civil war going on (i believe he witnessed it on the level high charity, correct?), he doesnt know that a small section of elites has decided to join with johnson and miranda and likely other humans in order to save all of their lives from the destruction caused by halo.

so what does all of this mean? It means that master chief is on a forerunner ship controlled by covenant on his way to earth, where a massive covenant fleet that isnt aware of the civil war (i doubt covenant communications are instantaneous) is wreaking havoc. This means that in the early parts of the game as MC we will likely still be fighting grunts, hunters, and elites on earth or wherever it may be. that is, until the arbiter arrives and ttells everyone that they have been fooled.

EVEN THEN, it is doubtful that all the grunts/elites/hunters will decide to throw away all the years of religion and loyalty that has been pounded into them. plus, we dont know if the human commanders will accept the new covenant rebels as allies or merely another faction in the war. then again, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

so what we will likely have in halo 3 is a situation similar to this: master chief fights in space/earth etc. against all of the covenant like he has in the past 2 games, then at some point the arbiter will make his way to earth (probably after several levels of fighting brutes and drones and flood) and then he will manage to sway some of the older elites and other covenant to his cause. then a civil war will take place on earth while the humans and covenant rebels will bbe trying to fend off the covenant. this will take us to about 1/2 or 3/4 of the way through the game. then the flood will make it to earth (maybe they hitched a ride on the covenant rebels' ships) and then it will basically be a 4-5 way battle for the ark depending on whether 343 considers us as obstacles in the way of initiating containment procedures :p

quite exciting if you ask me.

it would be like the British/Americans and the Russians in WW2. They will be allies but uneasy with each other probably.

  • 06.21.2006 2:28 PM PDT

Maybe but ifanything was trying to destroy me if they saw me or my friends for the last 30 or more years i would kill it regardless about wat it thought about me in the last 10 minutes.and with teaming up with them i would have nothing to kill that was hard to kill.

the Elite was a blue elite fighting over the AR. And to the dude who said the gold elite was Arby, what are you high on? The arbiter has a grayish armor that looks nothing like the standard elite's armor.

grimreaper990, the arbiter was previously the a gold elite in charge of the invasion of reach and operations at installation 04. when he "let" the demon escape, they brandded him with the mark of shame and made him an arbiter rather than just kil lhim. at least that way they'd get a bit more use out of him :p

They may fight for the same cause but i don't think they'll fight in mixed teams/squads. As somone said earlier they cant forget about all the years of fighting.
