Subject: Bungie you should add this...

Founder and leader of the Halo group "Experimental Singularity" JOIN TODAY!

I think it would be great if you , the employees of bungie who control the site could add an option to like any post made by anyone on the forums. It'd be great, come on guys you know it would be... Come on. you know you want to agree with me on this one... Hopefully... You probably won't though... :(

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

OP is so cute that I feel forced to agree with him...

You're right, OP; that would be a great idea.

Do you like Yax? I do.

We don't need this option. All you need to do is PM Recon Number 54 and tell him to edit a post if you like or dislike it.

Recon Number 54 dislikes this.

I'm torn on this. On one hand it would give people an easy way to show that they agree with what somebody said in a post, on the other it might discourage people from posting why they agree, and limiting discussion.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

No they wouldn't, what proof do you have that this would happen?

We don't need to further encourage irrelevant "funny" comments. It's enough of a problem as it is.

OP, your idea is the worst I've ever heard.

Its the same with quote-posting and " this " posts. That's the purpose this serves, a built-in "QFT" without clogging up a thread with useless -blam!- (QFT's, this's, quote-posting).

I figured you'd use those.

YouTube comments are in no way structured like the Bungie.net forums. While you can reply to others, usually you don't do something like a long drawn out discussions.

Facebook statuses are in very few ways structured like the Bungie.net forums and not nearly even to be comparable. Sure, each status or picture may have one topic or idea, but very rarely will you go back to have a discussion on a status, you make one posts or comment and you're done.

I don't know what the last one is.

I'm not saying they're structured the same. I'm saying a lot of peoples motivation to post is for likes and to get a lot of likes. You asked for proof and why I think people will post for likes, that's my proof. Through those mediums.

  • 08.28.2012 6:28 PM PDT

I'm awesome...No seriously I am.

Am I the only one here seeing this as a way for some people to spam the dislike button just because they're trolling around and not because they think otherwise of the topic.

Well, my point was that those sites are not able to be cited as reasons for why Bungie.net will degrade into that level of simplicity and stupidity because of the fact that they're structured in a much different way (a way that much more greatly encourages making one post in a "thread" and leaving, as well as doing so just for a *like* or *thumbs up*).
