Ok whenever i play halo i get a ping of around 67. One day, out of the blue, i hadnt downloaded anything, and i started warping and getting a ping of 200-500. I have done a virus scan, nothing. I have uninstalled counter strike, (halo and counter strike are the only 2 games on here other than CE) and it made no difference. I have tried everything I can think of, and nothing works. You guys are my last resort, other than Best Buy. Please post any solution you can think of. BTW i play on a laptop. (and please dont tell me to use a leafblower, im serios here.)

Wireless connections can be intermittent at times. you'll get interference and the signal will degrade. If you watch your status indicator it will jump around from 56MB/s down to 2MB/s and the signal strength will go from strong to poor. If it becomes a constant issue get a new wireless adapter, I've never had one last more then a year without giving me fits. However a better solution is to connect your computer directly to your DSL/Cable router with an ethernet cable. That will take the wireless network out of the equation, but you might not be able to do that. I can't do it in my house because I just rent a room, they don't want me drill holes and running cable.

I might be able to do that but problaly not........here is the story of why i can only play halo at my grandpas house.
At my house I have a 6 year old computer and dial up. I cant get anything better because i live 20 minutes from town and nobody has a cable out where i am. Then a couple years ago, my grandpa got a laptop with broadband and *poof* my prayers were answerd! So in response to your question, when i close down halo in disgust because of the lag, the thing says that the signal strength is exellent, and that the speed is at 11.0 MBS. I have also checked it in-game and it is the same. I have even stuck the laptop right under the adapter (like it is right now) and i still lag like a -blam-. Maybe you can get chewy gumball in here, doesnt he know a lot about this stuff?

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

I have wireless on my PC. Lemme tell you, at first, it seemed I was faster than the world. But now, its slower than sin lately. My signal has hi 54 Megs/sec ONCE in the past month. Its been at 32 m/ps and low/very low, and is randomly raises and drops. I hate it. But I have 2 questions.
1. Is there such thing as an ethernet splitter (like a phone jack split)
2. where can I get approximently 5-600 feet of ethernet cable?
thats the only way I could actually get hooked up directly to the DSL modem upstairs.
..Another thing. The internet here goes out everytime it rains. Whats with that?
