Guass rifles accelerate the projectile at amazing speeds. Almost instantaneously.
Well it depends on the size of the rifle, but it's certainly slower than the standard firing mechanism.
It really depends on the size of the projectile, the smaller the better. Speed factors in too, but surely the aim of the gun is for it to be going as fast as possible?
