Ok I know there have probably been a million of these threads before, but I was thinking we could get one with some really good stuff, combine some previous ones and maybe even get it put as a sticky? Post your ideas and i'll edit my post with them. Hopefully we can get a REALLY big one and get atleast some of it noticed by Bungie.

I'll start with a few of my own....

-Jackal sheilds useable as dual-wieldable weapon
-Atleast 1 air-insertion in campaign like the silent cartographer in H1
-Air strikes need to come back, that was crazy in the e3 03 demo for h2
-Possibly having multiplayer on a seperate disk, thus to allow HUGE maps with pilotable Longswords, pelicans, and scarabs with over 50 people in massive strategic senarios
-the ability for friendlies to ride on friendly craft such as a banshee much like enemies would board one, sorta like a "hitch-hike" allowing quick and easy transportation across a map
-More epic singleplayer missions with large-scale interactions of human and covanent troops.
-Destructable dropships
-the ability to weld items such as debris to create barriers in multiplayer that have to be blasted through to penetrate them
-Destructable bases
-Both covanent and Flood grinder modes on any map
-the ability to switch between 1st and 3rd person in the warthog side-seat and gunner
-Instead of having a cutscene to show droppods flying through the atmosphere actually have an intense 1st person view the whole way down from ship to ground (much more immersive) w/other drop pods being blown up and debris falling around you
-some way to give orders to your fellow troops/marines such as attack, hold position, ect ect
-darker, scarier storyline with more surprises and twists (h2 had tons ove twists imho)
-mines and foaming explosives (imagine being able to bring down, say the unfinished building in headlong with the entire enemy team inside it?)
-mele combos
-taller levels (in single and multi) such as a massive tower with a base at the top were the blue team would either have to fight their way up from the bottom (take hours) or have an airial insertion w/3-4 pelicans to get the flag
-needler grenade launcher
-needler grenades
-ability to look around corners
-ability to sprint
-maybe a multiplayer level where the flag's in a control room w/cameras?
-Multiplayer level were red team has to board a covanent cruiser like in truth and rec
-brutes, grunts, and marines playable in MP
-longer campaign, I mean this is the conclusion of this story arc right? Let's make it take a LONG time to finish
-Engineers visible doing various tasks
-return of the special purpose sniper seen in the h2 bonus vid
-Drininol beast needs to make a showing
-low gravity levels in SP and MP
-What ever happened to the Moon in h2? Wasn't that something they said would be in it?


I'll add more as they come. Meanwhile what do you guys think>

If it would take hours to get to the top of that tower, that'd be one crapy map. Thats just to far.

Anyways, Like most of your ideas... but i'm a tard and is to lazy to think of any.

Thats a lot of good idea's... I've always liked the idea of the jackal shield... Maybe a plasma dagger, that would be sweet... Being able to play as cortana in MP by placeing NAV points at key objectives sending in Marine or Covenant AI reinforcemeants... Being able to play as whatever you want in MP. A human jet/air fighter... Being able to fly the pelican... Being able to take over enemy drop ships... Some kinda human melee weapon..

I want more IMMERSIVE single-player levels.

I want to be filled with AWE the entire campaign. I didn't feel that way on Halo 2. You barely noticed or CARED that you were on a huge ringworld. I barely noticed I'd ended up in the library, especially when it didn't feel like a library at all, but more like Flood infested corridors. I barely cared that it was a Forerunner structure at all.

Multiplayer? What to say about Multiplayer?

Let me just state that I want maps that are UNABLE to be controlled by only possessing TWO sniper rifles. I want less long-distance oriented maps. I want a few close-quarters type maps, because it'd be fun.

I want the Sharquoi to make an appearance (whatever they are) and to p'raps see an engineer.

I would like to be able to pilot a dropship... Or failing that... Be able to DESTROY them. Ever since Halo 1, I've wanted to destroy dropships. I wanted to smash them into the ground before they could deploy reinforcements.

And what ever happened to the OLD dropships? I think those should make an appearance... You could mix them in with Phantoms... I suppose it occurs to nobody that the old dropships never had a name...

I think a could multiplayer level would be something like the Silent Cartographer was. An island of that size, but riddled with installations UNDER it as well as some stuff ABOVE it.

I want a multiplayer map that makes you feel like you're underground, fighting for every corridor and room you take... And an outside area to defend or roll vehicles across. Imagine having to pull the flag OUT of a heavily fortified base and then across the map to your own base.

One thing that REALLY disappointed me...

When your bomb detonates on the enemy base... The base isn't destroyed. It kills everyone within a point of the bomb... But the base doesn't take any real damage... So what's the point?

I think if they made "Assault" to be more realistic... Like... you have to destroy PORTIONS of the base, and you get points for the amount of sections you blew up by planting the bomb. Have three arm points and have to defend them all. The enemy would get ONE bomb and the damage would carry over, so you couldn't bomb the same point twice. It'd make for more interesting Assault rounds.

It would be so awsome for bungie to make a gametype(like slayer or capture the flag) where the are different factions and many units in each faction to choose from, and each unit has different weapons and ammunition limits. Hoping this will be like a halo version of Battlefield 2: Modern Combat. With some minor changes to make gameplay even better. Also the map should have preset limits of active players. That way there won't be like 50 people on a small map like Lockout. Also so there won't be people waiting for others to die, the game shouldn't let anyone join when the active player limit is reached. And as a side note, the sniper in this game type only!, there shouldn't be a targeting reticle for the sniper when you scope in because it will end up as a super weapon in a game where all soldiers are supposed to have weaknesess and balance to the gametype.

I think all of edp07's ideas are pretty good. I have one thing to say. One or two ginormous maps that 20-30 people can play on. The bigger the better. Where a team is actually forced to work as a team to complete the objective.

The following comments are just my views. You don't have to agree with me, but you still shouldn't be angry if you don't.

-Air strikes need to come back, that was crazy in the e3 03 demo for h2 - Not in MP, but in a few campaign levels

-Possibly having multiplayer on a seperate disk, thus to allow HUGE maps with pilotable Longswords, pelicans, and scarabs with over 50 people in massive strategic senarios - Could cause a few problems, but it would be nice to have bigger maps and more vehicles

-the ability for friendlies to ride on friendly craft such as a banshee much like enemies would board one, sorta like a "hitch-hike" allowing quick and easy transportation across a map - No due to balance issues. Imagine a banshee totting two rocket-packing Spartans across the map in the air

-More epic singleplayer missions with large-scale interactions of human and covanent troops. - Not original, but I still agree

-Destructable dropships - Maybe... Only if they show up in MP

-the ability to weld items such as debris to create barriers in multiplayer that have to be blasted through to penetrate them - CONDEMNED, but a possibility

-Destructable bases - Far too complicated. Realistic, but too complicated

-Both covanent and Flood grinder modes on any map - grinders? I like fighting the Flood, but I would want to eat a flood sandwich just as much as the Master Chief

-the ability to switch between 1st and 3rd person in the warthog side-seat and gunner - A good original idea, but I can't see it happening

-Instead of having a cutscene to show droppods flying through the atmosphere actually have an intense 1st person view the whole way down from ship to ground (much more immersive) w/other drop pods being blown up and debris falling around you - Complex, but a good idea. Sort of like with the D-Day part of Call of Duty 2. There's so much action, you start to loose your senses and just charge

-some way to give orders to your fellow troops/marines such as attack, hold position, ect ect - A few commands, perhaps just get in/out, stay here, follow me

-darker, scarier storyline with more surprises and twists (h2 had tons ove twists imho) - I don't want this to become a pure horror game, but a few more levels like the Flood level on High Charity. That one was nerve racking

-mines and foaming explosives (imagine being able to bring down, say the unfinished building in headlong with the entire enemy team inside it?) - Mines, but you shouldn't be able to bring down a building. At least in MP. Who's to say you couldn't blow up a covie field HQ?

-mele combos - No s**t sherlock!

-maybe a multiplayer level where the flag's in a control room w/cameras? - what good would cameras do? "I'm gonna watch you to death!!!"

-Multiplayer level were red team has to board a covanent cruiser like in truth and rec - not too big though. Sounds awesome

-brutes, grunts, and marines playable in MP - No. just no. I can already guarantee you that all MP skins will be characters that posses shields

-longer campaign, I mean this is the conclusion of this story arc right? Let's make it take a LONG time to finish - I agree. When Bungie said Halo 2 would have 15 levels, they didn't lie, but I didn't expect one of those levels to be a cutscene and another just to be non-combat training

-Engineers visible doing various tasks - it would be funny to just kill one for fun. They seemed awfully submissive in the books, so perhaps they could help you in some way (repair your vehicle, heal you/your marines)

-return of the special purpose sniper seen in the h2 bonus vid - 2 snipers is enough for a game, but since one of them is useless...

-Drininol beast needs to make a showing - maybe like the Flood, an enemy off every side, and attacks whatever is closest. Or it could be peaceful...

-low gravity levels in SP and MP - Cairo station had some reduced gravity, so it's entirely possible

-What ever happened to the Moon in h2? Wasn't that something they said would be in it? - I never heard about that, but I'm sure that Humans have colonized the moon by 2552.

Ok, i know one of the reasons why Co-op online wouldnt work because the conflicting AI issues, because halos server is self hosted the AI of the enemies would be coming form someone xbox and not a servers there fore it would be dreadfully impossible to have online Co-op with self hosted servers if bungie ever decides to make servers for Halo 3 i thought this would be a pretty cool idea.

A guantlet with sever al levels of difficulty where up to 8 players can join in against an enormous amount of covenant forces, some rounds may include objectives but mostly extremly powerful AI against Human players. that would be mayhem. but of course nothing beats human vs Human so i guess the only reason for a seperate server would be for online coop maybe 4 players?

SO scrap that bad gauntlet idea there should be two options for Xbox live, one Multiplayer one for Online Coop, Ranks would include efficieny time, % of enemies killed, basically DOOM stats but on h3 ^_^

i thought multiplayer was awseome so really only a few new gametypes could really make it better, or worse.

the weapons,, wouldnt make sense to introduce so many new weapons, maybe some that are modified, like the one shown in the trailer. Overall many new weapons, howmany really do u need... ?

HaoxianArbazo, Doom3 had user-hosted co-op games, and I rarely ever got lag or anything. The AI was never a problem there. PDZ also has user-hosted co-op.
