ok so humans are practicaly beaten on earth, well what about all of the other planets that are inhabited by humans. aren't there other planets that people live on where there it a decent amount of people that could come to our aid. can someone please enlighten me on why earth is so alone in this fight and why other people aren't coming to help us.

Earth is alone because the Covenant have been systematically and ruthlessly wiping out all human colony worlds, slowly making their way to Earth. Now they're at Earth. Great.
Consider yourself enlightened.

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

the problem is simple, earth is the bee hive, destroy the hive, and it doesn't really matter how many bee's are still flying around.

all of the fleet was at Earth, only civilian ships reamin and they would be shredded in orbit

so they have no way to get to Earth and aid us.

The books give mild examples of life outside of earth. Many of the colony clusters/ planets are heavily anti earth union and have waged wars against earth for their cruel mistreatment (or did you really think that just because humans are the good guys that they are still not human, tell me how many ethnic purgings occured or how many children were killed to finally unite earth hmmm?)

Other than those seperatists groups who would only welcome news of the fall of earth (as it would both kill their foes and slow down or divert the covies from them) the other earth united colonies have already been contributing to the defense of mankind in their naval power and possibly manpower in the fodder required to fight the covies. Chances are a good number of the ships or soldiers on earth in halo 2 were not earth born or made (heck John was born on a distant colony world when he was abducted if they would do that then perhaps they have similar recruitment capabilites that stretch out equally).

There are no doupt other colony worlds (possibly many) that are not slain by the covies but chances are most of them are already bled dry for man power and resources for ships and even if they weren't I don't think anything they would do now would have any more effect than the last couple trillion lives lost fighting the covies. As the covie have never been beaten with the exception of guerilla strikes via spartans or overwhelmed in naval conflict in whichcase they still managed to kill much more than double their own numbers I don't think they really have any way of actually winning against the covies.
