Has anyone ever been able to complete the WHOLE campaign on Legendary without dying?

I only beat the pillar of atumn, halo, silent cartoghapher, and the maw with my friend, and halve the time we did the cloning method

I don't think i've ever been bothered to play from very beginning to very end in one go. By the time i've done a few levels i just start doing stupid but fun things that end up with me dead. Though i reckon if i tried i could do it.

Haven't played halo in ages. Hell, my xbox is still in my bag from a LAN we had a few weeks ago, and then we played halo2... sad, would have been much better if it had been halo1.

You could complete it without dying but I couldn't be bothered to try. I get bored of a Campaign after I've completed it twice...

Sighness

Indubidubly. Banana.

I beat the entire game on Legendary but not without dying. I have gone through Library without dying, about it =/ Every other level I die atleast 3 times, if not more with a partner -_-;

Its like holding onto an electric fence, and complaining that it hurts, yet you still do it. See the stupidity now?

I have. No, i'm NOT lying. I've beaten this games Campaign enough times and before H2 came out I decided to try it. You have to go MUCH slower and play allot more defensivly.

Yeah, I have also done this, but not without having to try many times. The pace is much slower. I took no chances. It was like, go into a room, kill 1 enemy, throw a nade, walk out and wait until my shields recharge and all of my weapons are completely reloaded, repeat. But, after you do this, any other difficulty becomes so easy, that it's well worth the practice.

I can do the Maw without dying, the final section with the Warthog is only difficult because the checkpoint is at the start, so if you accidentally revert or quit, you have to restart.

Not to burst your bubble, but The Maw is the easiest level to complete on Legendary, you can literally run through 1/2 the level (not counting the end) and the only part that can give you trouble that you HAVE to do is the longe corridore with a RL in it, with flood pooring in the other end...I dont remember a specific name for it. But its about 1/2 way through the level.

Yup, exactly. Exept I was a little more agressive sometimes...I can only be so patient.

Only when playing single player, there's a 50/50 chance you'll get a checkpoint after Foehammer dies. (You have to keep going and enter the hallway and the checkpoint is invisible.)

I thought i would try to go through the entire campaign on legendary seamless without dying, one level after the other and if i died, starting over on POA. However you have to be very lucky to do this so I gave up and decided to just do each level individually on legendary without dying. And to the others that claimed the've done it, I'd like to hear some of their strategies because it sounds much different than what i did. I can't remember a time where i crawled through the levels, on legendary, most parts can be done just fine if you're good, and the ones that ARE particulary difficult, you have to do as quickly as you can, before you get overwhelmed.

Think the stair room on POA, the sniping hills on Halo, the loading zone on T&R and especially once you're inside, and flood segments you have to always just be simple, fast, and effective, though you have to memorize where there are rocket flood, as they are absurdly accurate. Think of Keyes especially, you cannot crawl through that level trying to be as safe as possible, to my knowledge, that is the only level with "infinity points" where enemies will continue to rush you until, 1.you die or 2. you get past them. On those parts you have to be able to own while sprinting head on into that infinity point and pray that you get lucky.

Having actually succeeded in doing every level on legendary without dying, i'll tell you that sometimes you just get unlucky and die. And since you're so concerned about dying, you remember each and every death, why you died there, and you ask yourself what you could do in the future to keep it from happening again and unfortunately, sometimes the answer is... ...nothing.

For example, my Halo attempt was going just dandy until 2 marines came dashing out from behind cover and right into the path of my warthog while i was driving to the next area. Trust me when i say that no amount of brakes or dodging could have saved those marines. So when I arrive in the rocky area, the sniper marine up on the hill "BOOM! headshots" me right in the face, while i'm driving.

-blam!- happens, and going slow doesn't prevent that, if you're going to attempt this ridiculous no death challenge, do yourself a favor and don't try until you're absurdly familiar with the campaign, game mechanics, and best ways to approach every situation and enemy. You can't do it on your wits and balls of solid brass alone, knowing is half the battle. But I digress, if you've done EVERYTHING in Halo 1, than make sure that you included the every level no death challenge on that list, it will seriously get your heart pounding like campaign used to 5 years ago...

I am still on the second docking bay on legendary. I beat the game on easy, but I died a couple times. I know I'm pathetic, its freakin' hard.

Same here man, I would always start fooling around after it got boring... and then I would start killing myself, and then it gets out of control and then I just quit. =/
