They're called "Personal Messages" for a reason, unless you didn't know that's what PM stood for.

Hey, is that "RE: YOU SUCK BUNGIE" message from me?

There was an interview with the lead Halo2Vista developer and he said that they are including text chat. Johnny threw a tantrum on the boards because he ASSUMED they this meant they were not going to have voice chat. Apparently he PMed Frankie and I'm surprised Frankie wasted the minute to respond to him letting him know what the rest of us already knew. I guess it avoids the anurism Johnny was headed for.

They never said they weren't putting in voice chat, either.

GAH, why is everyone so obsessed with voice chat being *included* in Halo 2 Vista :P, Imagine how much laggier that will make the game. Why can't everyone just use ventrilo / x-fire, rawrz, its just this subject is getting on my nerves, why do so many people who "love voice chat", not know how to use teamspeak / ventrilo :P

Voice chat makes the experience 100x better, IMO. It's just a lot more fun to actually talk to your teammates rather than typing to them.

Battlefield 2 has built-in voice chat, and it's never laggy.

BTW, would you rather have built-in voice chat from the start, or you'd rather tell your teammates the server name, IP, port, and password for Vent?

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

Text chat is easyer. I prefer to have silence when I play Halo, not listening to an angry mouthy 13 year old call everyone ni***rs and f**s.
And no, I would rather not take the few seconds to mute him. In those few seconds, I could die. I want not to die, but to play.
Besides that, be grateful that Bungie is even porting H2 over to PC.
Halo PC has text chat. I and it seems most everyone else has survived with it.
Also, this is Halo. Not Battlefront 2. Big difference.

He said Battlefield 2, not Battlefront 2. Big difference.

But I don't mind if they don't have VOIP support, I don't mind text chatting at all. But they'll probably have it.

...well, seeing that Halo2 is rated M for Mature (that is, 17 and up...) I don't see the argument of whoever sent that to you.

I am thirteen years old, which is the intended age of Xbox Live and older, and it is up to the parent(s)/guardian(s) whether a minor can play rated mature games or not. My father lets me play Halo 2 an Halo, because it's not as violent and bloody as other games, and knows that I'm mature enough to play them.

But still bans you temporarily when it starts modifying your language in abusive ways. GG Kim's dad!

I prefer texchat. Don't need a much of little kids screaming into the mics, or having to deal with people yelling whatever they want into my house. I don't care if Voice is included, but if it is I won't use it.

His original post went something like:
"My 11 yr. old son has been recieving racist messages from someone over the text-chat on Halo 2! Bungie is doing nothing about it!".

It got locked, so I PMed, "it's an M-rated game (ages 17+ reccomended) and Xbox Live is for ages 13 and up. Quit whining.".

His response? "STFU!".

If the game is for 17+ expect the content in it to be somethign 17+ year olds would be mature enough to hear. Thats my POV on it.
