I was wondering if any of the galaxies portrayed in the map Condemned were based off of pictures of real galaxies?

The ones behind the battle scorched planet are beautiful. Almost like theyre angels catching a dead planet.

I don't know. You could look up pictures of known galaxies and compare. Maybe go to NASA's site and browse pics.

agreed, all of the halo games' skyboxes are incredible. The skybox at the end of The Pillar of Autumn on Reach is incredible.

I think Reach had an excellent art style, it conveys the feeling of hopelessness and sadness.

And I meant that in a good way. The scenery in Reach was amazing.
