Subject: When Active Bungie.net Members Go Dark

Since, I've been here on Bungie.net I've seen a lot of members come and go. How do you think it affects The Community or you personally when your friends or people you know stop posting as much or completely at all? Does it affect your activeness? Or do you think there's no real affect at all?

No, not really. I don't really know a lot of people on Bnet. I recognize them from their posts but we don't hang out. . . .literally or figuratively, in groups.

OP, I come and go depending on what's up ahead in my life that I need to prepare for.

@spaboolly

Overall, I think there are enough active members to keep going even if some people decide to leave. There are only a few people I can think of whose departure would affect my personal posting habits. And they don't post very much as it is anyway.

Checking out my profile I see?

I don't personally know enough people on here to really notice that much.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

I suppose it depends on who's leaving to some extent. But there are still hundreds (maybe thousands; pulling numbers out of nowhere here) of people who come into these forums regularly. I can't see all the activity of the forums stopping if a handful of people leave.

This may surprise you, Burrito, but not all activity on this forum revolves around you and others like you.

Interestingly enough, now that I'm in college, I actually am on here a lot more. Equivalent to how often I was on during 2006/7.

I only get affected when good posters leave. When good posters leave good threads aren't made as often and good conversations don't happen often. So I tend to post less and less.

I never really go inactive, I just refrain from posting when I have nothing really to add to a thread, or I can't convey my thoughts coherently enough to warrant a response, without resulting in walls of text people won't read.
Yes, I am that cynical when posting.

I think the only thing which will have a real affect on me is if members in private groups I'm a part of were to leave. Within private groups, I stay more for the members within my 'friendship circle' than the purpose of the group. So I guess that counts. With the mains, I take less note of who comes and goes, simply because I'm not as connected to a fairly large chunk of this community as I could be.

It doesn't impact my activity, there is no reason why it should. It's sad when a friend leaves, or a cool poster, but that's the cycle of Bnet.

Read: determination and boredom.

My work regulates my day time activity here, and night is for playing the games I came here to talk about to begin with.

Though for a long time now the site in general and the private groups have grown stagnant and my interest is rapidly fading.

Not really directed towards you Verachi, but I see a small, constant amount of members who post, so I'm able to identify who they are, what they post like, and what to expect from them. But then there's the flood where familiarity is few and far between.
