Subject: When Active Bungie.net Members Go Dark

Blackness Confirmed. You've got soul.

The Ultimate Opinion.

I get random bouts of inactivity due to work and those horrid non-internet related events. However I always come back, and the community has always still be active, so I keep coming.

Chapter

I think it would really only affect the community if a large batch of active members went inactive. The forums would be left with nothing but random Halo Reach blue flame threads because the inactive members posting wouldn't be up to date.

I don't think that it affects my activeness at all. I'll post if whenever I feel like it.

You know our motto, We deliver!

I post less. I kind of come in and out of activity but generally b.net seems very slow for me.

Overall, I think there are enough active members to keep going even if some people decide to leave
improssibru.

I suppose it depends on who's leaving to some extent. But there are still hundreds (maybe thousands; pulling numbers out of nowhere here) of people who come into these forums regularly. I can't see all the activity of the forums stopping if a handful of people leave.

This may surprise you, Burrito, but not all activity on this forum revolves around you and others like you.
I was going to leave it be until the last, quite rude, sentence. So now I have to call you out on stupidity. Sorry.

First, I link you here.

Second, I find it incredibly odd that you would make such a rude insinuation without even knowing what you are talking about. For instance. I made my last post in a sarcastic manner. I was mocking you for making such a ridiculous statement with the implication that anybody would ever have thought otherwise- in regards to the post I quoted. Then I note that due to Bungie being dark for over a year, many people have left and the forum sustains itself. Thus the statement becomes an incredibly obvious one. I could have just as easily said 'thanks captain obvious.' Unfortunately, it seems subtlety is a lost art when not talking to 'others like me.'

So if by 'others like you,' you mean people with the intelligence or common sense to look beyond what a child might see from a text, then I think it is quite a shame that the forum is not populated by 'me and others like me.'

... And that is why you don't call people out in a rude fashion when they have done nothing to warrant it.

No, not really. I don't really know a lot of people on Bnet. I recognize them from their posts but we don't hang out. . . .literally or figuratively, in groups.

This surprises the hell out of me! I thought that burrito was the reason Bnet was created!

There was/is also the rule of "Elmicker hates it? Ship it!" which I believe is still in effect.

It doesn't have any effect on my activity but in terms of affecting me as a person, yes it does, I hate seeing people that are normally active drop out of sight with inactivity.

I do enjoy seeming some memebrs post. They all have a sort of charisma in my eyes, and for some, they cheer me up. Something I am greatful of this community for. But when I notice they are no longer active, I do feel a sense of sadness and loss that someone has left, possibly never to return.

As for others... not so much feelings of bonding as much resentment.

I run Skirmish!!!

the lack of weekly news stories, interesting discussions, lack of speculation threads about bungie's next game and the mail sacks really aren't that interesting when the SAME PEOPLE get chosen every week for questions.. All this has made me get over the bungie community forum and site for the most part. I mostly stick to the halo 3 and universe parts these days
