Poll: Should there be more gore and dissembowlment in Halo 3?  [closed]
Yes. the 360 would make those effects awsome.:  37%
(19 Votes)
No! gross! we need to appeal to younger gamers!:  6%
(3 Votes)
more realistic blood decals, but no flying limbs!:  54%
(28 Votes)
other (state bellow):  4%
(2 Votes)
Total Votes: 52

Should Halo 3 have more gore then the 2? for example, if a marine is killed by a 'nade, should his midsection be blown apart? could Bungie pull off the effects, or would it just seem gimicky?

That would be too complicated, but it would be very realistic. And maybe even land the game an AO rating...

No it won't, Soldier of Fortune did it. I like the idea of something behaving reallistically when I shoot it. However, It should be able to be turned off in some sort of parental controls. And it definitely should not be in MP, it would cause some more lag, which would make a lot of people very angry.

I do not think it would land the game an AO the only thing that lands a game an AO rating is usually escessive -blam!-ity.

You're right. The original Unreal Tournament allowed you to:

* Cut your opponents heads off
* Blow people into small pieces
* Take off limbs

All of which were visibly represented, and that game was only rated M.

More realistic blood, yes. Flying limbs... no. This isn't DOOM or unreal tournament. The last thing we want is everyone saying "Duuuude, have you played Halo 3? That game is so friggin gory! It's awesome" ! That'll just bring even more idiots to xbox live... Halo is known for being a real game for hardcore gamers. Putting in excessive gore or even exessive technichally realistic gore will just make it look gimmicky and somewhat cheesy. This would only attract even more immature psycho chocolate milk drinking 11 year olds who yell "IN YOUR FACE!" whenever they get a kill to the xbox live community.

For campaign of course but not for MP. I mean, Mortal Kombat had you tearing out skeletons and it was still rated only M. For Campaign they should so it would be more realistic. I mean, if the energy sword is that powerful, it should be able to rip through MJOLNIR and elite armor. And bullet wounds in enemies would be nice.

Never argue with idiots. They force you down to their level, then win because of experience.

Shadowrun=Halo 1>Halo 3>Halo 2>Gears of War>Nothing.

Don't be a scrub. Play to win.

I would rather have a very smooth running game with good blood effects than random limbs flying around during framerate skips. Anyway, my parents cant stand the whole disembowelment / decapitation thing, so if there are flying limbs, you wont see me around.

And yes, we must always be alert for those damn choco puff loaded 10 year olds.

Halo's a hell of a drug.

We know they can do it because they did it with the flood in both games. I think they do it for the kids though, so they don't do it to any of the othe characters.

I like the idea of during MP if you get sniped in the head your helmet comes off.

Like in gory games Bungie would have to add the toggle gore setting and if they don't want to do that the game will be fine anyway.

Gibs are an Unreal signature thing.

Halo has the "Grunt flying through the air waving his arms around comically" thing, which I think should be kept to give it that "Halo" feel.

You wouldn't believe the number of grenades I wasted on Grunts in campaign just for that, especially stickies.

i wouldnt mind flood gore or blood. i dont mind blood as we have seen in previous halo games. but dismemberment/disemboewlment/more blood is simply not necessary and in my opinion it would take away from what halo is.

halo is not like quake, where the more blood, the better. halo is a deep scifi story with a satsifying multiplayer. the story revolves around war and master chief. I dont want to be playing halo 3 while blood is spraying everywhere and trying to listen to cortana or some marine at the same time.

i find that most people who want tremendous amounts of blood/gore (aside from the flood which i would like a bit more blood/gore from them) are generally the younger and more immature, not the other way around.

The life and world you see is just a cheery toped and sugar coated version. You know nothing of Hell. Unknown to you and everyone around you is that there is a war going on that you can't see. Now that you know, you are part of it. And if you are going to survive, your going to need to learn to pull the trigger.

i want the blood to look better. And only the flood should fly apart.
