I was inspired by a flashback in First Strike for this.

I think an option for custom team games should be to turn off the FOF tags. Everyone moving, team mate or enemy alike would display as a gray dot, so you would only be able to tell where someone is when they move or fire, but not what team they're on. It would be like having no motion sensor in the sense of not knowing where your enemies or allies are, but you'll still be able to see something, and it could make for some interesting battles.

Quae caret ora cruore nostro?
P.S. I love you.

That idea could be very anoying. Every time on a team game where there is a sniper, I aim at a guy, I have to wait about ten seconds for his name to pop up so I dont end up shooting my teammates.

This is only about the motion sensor. There could still be the team indicators over the player's character in the game, but he wouldn't show up as an ally on the motion sensor.

Halo's a hell of a drug.

I likes. It would make some games very interesting. And all those kids who have magnetised TVs could finally say we are on the same playing field as them.

You can magnetize TVs? I though you could only do that to computers permanently.

the way the motion sensor works is:
basically, everybody moving is either friend or foe. there are no anomalies (or ppl u just dont know about, whether they will shoot you or not). because of this, your allies automatically send out a signal to everybody else on you team telling that they are friendly. this causes their dot on the motion sensor to show up at yellow. any other movement that is not sending out a signal telling that they are friendly shows up as a red dot. the only problem with this is that vehicles, with or without a person, should always show up as red (unless you have an ally in it) whenever they move.

no, in the books i remember there was a part where a spartan on reach was going about and there was a dot on his radar and they said the FOF tag was turned off so he couldnt tell if it was ally or enemy. So this suggests that the radars do not auto label anyone not emitting a friendly tag as red.

i dont know about this idea but i do know that it would be really nice if it was all normal except that when a enemy died all the sudden an ocon appeard above his body so u would know like were the kinlling and stuff is going on and if that person is dead or not. then it could dissapear after u know like5 seconds

  • 06.22.2006 12:16 PM PDT

Great idea, that would put a lot more imphasis on team communication.
