OK, I'll just say it "I hate snipers" the way i see it snipers are cowards, just to scared to get into the fight, they have to get there kills from a distance!

Ill admit it snipers can be pretty usefull as long as there in the right hands. It takes a skilled sniper to actually do some good out there on the field.
Which brings me to my next point. In Halo 2, its all about who can out snipe the other.
lets face it when ever you go to a lan party you just here a bunch sniper rounds and BR rounds trailing through the air. No one realy gets up close any more like they did in Halo.
Lets face it your not going to rush someone with an SMG, no. Thats because before you can get there the person your rushing has already blasted 9 rds from a BR into your head. So then you think "How can i get him...hmmm, I know ill get a battle rifle and see if I can put 9 rounds into HIS head before he even sees me!"

I know im going to get alot of complaints about this, but please id like to have other peoples opinions on this.

Have you ever tried to flank a sniper? To come at him from the side? When they're so absorbed in their scope, you can run up on their side or rear and melee 'em from the back, pop 3 M6D rounds into their head, or stick 'em. (Chances are that they won't realize that they're being fired upon, until after they're dead.)

The reason many people use the BR55 in Halo 2 is because it's the all-around, totally kick ass, good for almost any situation, rifle. What do you think Xboxers would say if they saw the only weapon we were using was the pistol?

They would say something like, "Lets face it your not going to rush someone with an AR, no. Thats because before you can get there the person you're rushing has already blasted 3 rds from a M6D into your head. So then you think "How can i get him...hmmm, I know ill get a pistol and see if I can put 3 rounds into HIS head before he even sees me!"

Don't drink to excess– You might shoot at tax-collectors... and miss

Computer: Power Mac G5 CPU Type: PowerPC G5 (2.2) Number Of CPUs: 2 CPU Speed: 1.8 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 1.25 GB Bus Speed: 900 MHz

Coward is a bit harsh. After all, it's a game– get killed a thousand times and you don't get a scratch. Snipers who camp, or snipers who advance down the field? There's a difference. Campers usually get killed.

A sniper who stays back but moves around can stay alive and give covering fire for team mates capping the flag.

I don't know about H2, never played it. Maybe the weapons are unbalanced, I dunno.

I like to snipe, but I don't use it when I'm on BG out in the open. I mean, sure I can pull off an occasional no zoom 2 shot kill, but with the lag, my keyboard/mouse, it's difficult.

On Danger Canyon, I get personal. I grab a shottie and one time I got two triple kills in a row. I love using the shotgun. It's just the big maps (aka gephyr, infinity) need snipers once in a while. I think it's certain levels.

On halo 2, my brother pulls out a BR, I take a brute shot and have a dual-wield of plasma pistol/pistol, easy shots. Sure it's the n word combo, but it works. The halo 2 shotgun flat out sucks, I rarely use it. I always alternate when I play PC or halo/halo 2 on xbox

Sniping is much harder on Halo PC than on Halo 2. Even with the obvious mouse and keyboard advantage, sniping takes absolutely no skill in H2. In HPC, because of the horrible netcode, you must lead your shots. Sniping from across the map while you and/or your target is moving or in a moving vehicle alone takes skill, but since you have to lead, it is much more difficult than it should be. On Xbox Live, almost everybody is going to have a decent or an above-average connection, because it requires broadband. Not to mention the unbelievable gods of auto-aim that grant anybody who picks up a sniper rifle a guaranteed killtacular. (Okay, that was exaggerated, but you get my point.) It's not that hard to snipe in H2, which is why it'll take more skill in H2 PC, since there'll be no auto-aim. (But at least we won't have to lead as much.)

Who says snipers always snipe from far away? I bring my sniper everywhere and use it for just about everything.

Yeah. I can't tell you how many times i've died with a sniper because of that. I almost never look at my radar when I snipe, so I generally get killed from a pat on the back.
Besides that, about 3/4 of the people who play halo can't snipe for crap. Their big mistakes were that they just stood around. NEVER stay in one place when sniping if you don't want to die. It makes you easyer to get a 1HK on you by HS.

one word.snipers have no radar,so you can easily kick the crap outta him while he does not see you.wait...that's not one word...its 19...anyways,there are many ways to deal with people with any weapon.i could put a list of examples for each wepon, but that would take way to long.in stead,i will say,the magnum, unscoped, has a FAIRLY slow rate of fire.you can get in with an AR.scoped, there is still the no radar feature.all weapons have a weakness.even grenades.

It's sure it hard to snipe but if you practice youll get better. For me I really like to snipe on blood gulch, gephyraphobia (or whaterver it spells), Timberland, Danger Canyon). I mostly snipe on those maps. For the other maps, I don't really snipe, I prefer using a shotty or noob weapons.

That's also another problem with Halo 2's sniping weapons. Sniper rifles are meant to be used at medium to long range, not up close. There's something wrong with a game when you're two feet away from someone with a shotgun, and you have a sniper rifle, which is clearly not meant for close-quarters combat, and you can consistently shoot him in the head with it. Sure, I don't mind it if a really skilled player pulls it off, but it's just retarded when you think about it.

I mean, sure it happens in Combat Evolved as well, but not as often, and it isn't as practical.

For snipers its the amount of lives you save... not how many you kill.

Unless you play FFA :)
---

Snipers are easy to kill. Get up close, sticky, or blast 'em with a shotgun.

Whats difficult is if your playing something like assualt and the snipers camp out your respawn place... what -blam!-s :(

Snipers are pretty easy targets, I usually just 3SK them with the pistol, or if they're camping, and staying in the same spot all game, it's pretty easy to take them out with a sniper rifle, like when an enemy is camping with the sniper on the cliffs near red base on Blood Gulch.

Ok... A couple of years ago when I was still able to play halo I played a lot of halfway decent people and most of them were NOT snipers. I will agree that there is nothing more annoying than some guy who kills the guy you were trying to kill then kills you, but a kill is a kill regardless of the means. "The end justifies the means" No one is immortal (except me of course, just kidding) =) I personally know that if it lives and breathes you can make it cease. All you have to do is when you are being sniped try something called EVASION. Hide behind a rock, move, try and snipe him(or her) first. If you try and argue "Well Demigod I would have evaded him if I wasn't out in the middle of the map." WELL THATS YOUR OWN DAMN FAULT. (sorry for language and caps.) The first rule of war is not to be seen and to keep moving. The next thing you can try is to shoot them and make it so they can't zoom. Most people snipe from quite a distance and if you have a pistol, you can save your ass (sry for lang). Just make it so they can't zoom long enough for you to get out of the way, or kill them if the oppurtunity arrises. I have played MANY games and MANY people so I know my advice is valuable but use it if you will. Hope this helps you!

Well, I'm pretty good with a sniper and pistol, I'm above average with those two and can kick ass with them. However I totally kick ass with meeles, shotguns AR's, nades and more close range. I can even kick the warthogs ass even with a good driver in close range with nothing more than one nade and one shotgun pellet and even at mid range.

I've developed a couple techniques for fast kills in close combat and against warthogs.

Such as my one meele kill, and one shotgun shot and nade kill against warthogs and mid-close range and even more.

Taking out a 'Shee or 'Hog with a shotgun is a good, good feeling. :)

Just remember that the M90 Shotgun in Halo PC fires one round, not one pellet like you said. If that was the case, the Halo 1 shotgun would be worse than the Halo 2 one!

(The round of the Halo 1 shotgun contains 15 pellets, while the Halo 2 shotgun round only contains 6.)

There's nothing more satsifying then denying a warthog noob the pleasure of running you over by landing a well-placed grenade in his path, and finishing him, and any other passenger(s) in the vehicle with a pistol.

It's relatively easy to snipe someone from a vehicle that is moving in a straight direction. Countless warthog gunners, passengers, and drivers have found that out the hard way. XD

Yep, most good snipers on Halo PC usually don't go to "sniper's death" cliff in BG and stay in one spot (don't those people annoy you too?). However, you sound like you're talking about this topic from a "big map" point of view. If you play a good sniper in a map such as Chill Out or Derelict you'll soon realize they're anything BUT a coward.

people hate snipers because they don't keep their eyes peeled. Believe you me, when you get shot in the head 2, 3 times in a row, you'll hate snipers too. But sooner or later you'll begin to appreciate the gun and begin to use it, TRUST ME...

LOL, if they go back there on BG behind red base, then you have three options.

1. Get a sniper and snipe them.

2. Go all ninja and go stealth and kill them when you get there.

3. Fire rockets up there and scare them, and maybe kill them.

Also, ZC tango, I know its called a round, but I felt the term pellet was better.
