Ok. My list of halo 1 and 2 maps that need a return and how:
1) Coagulation- This is a great map, good size and alot of possibility. I feel that it should have a slightly more established presense now, or even possibly a new lanslide that made it possible to get to the top of the map, where several other buildings are. Antoher possibility is to have had an earthquake, and a whole inside the caves to open up and allow access to another canyon for just warthogs. Each team woul then spawn on different sides of the whole and would not be able to use the tank to spawn kill.
2) Damnation- I have always loved this map. It had an incredible mix of close quarters, snipers, high ledges and teleports. If it made a return in the form of a Forerunner structure inside the Ark, i would really have a good time playing it.
3) Boarding Action- Big pocibilites for this map. Replace one of the ships with a covenant cruiser, add 3 heavy turret/missle pods per side with individual health (maybe 3 rockets), and then give each ship health (optional, and about 10 rocekts worth, but only harmable by the turrets). Now you have one ship verse another, whith teleporters to either side to do some hands on work. That would be fun as hell.
4) Zanzibar- I feel this map is in need of some damage and expansion. The weel should definately take most of the brunt, as well as a major portion of the wall (where that little tunnel is maybe over by the far sniper spawn). It should also have a halfway destroyed bridge leading to an island roughly the same size as the zanzibar map. It should be about as long as Coag, and just wide enoughf ro a scorpion to cross. Now add some small flight vehicles into the mix as well as some boats at each base and you got a war. It should also have an underground tunnel complex, maybe the size of the bottom of Lockout.
