Subject: What did YOU do to improve?

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

So all of us had a different experience when trying to improve. Some people just played a lot, some of us watched MLG gameplay from pros, some of us reviewed our gameplay, some practiced jumps and nades.......so what helped you improve the most? As for me, I spent most of my time watching MLG gameplay and just playing the game. I ran by myself most of the time when I was going for my first 50, so it took a long time and was very frustrating, but it probably helped me get better. So what did you guys spend the most time doing to improve?

Play the game over and over just like every other player.

global warming isn't proven and won't be - it's more of a political play for funding for "research"

I haven't improved.

Halo multiplayer sucks!

Based on campaigns

Halo 2 > Halo 3 ODST > Halo 3 > Reach/CE tied

Back when I used to play Halo 3, playing a lot of SWAT helped to improve my reflexes and aiming. Not meaning to brag, but during the Summer of 2011 I was a god at SWAT. I was getting 20 to 30 kills a match, and I was in love with that playlist. Then the playlist died, and so did a part of my love for this game.

My favourite memory of this game will always be Bungie day 2011, when the SWAT playlist had a sudden influx of players, just that one day. I might actually still like this game if SWAT hadn't died.

I changed usernames to match my gamertag. My original account, wambo114, was created when I got xbox live. I'm a 2007 kid really!

Watched MLG gameplays, entered playlists with a party, added people who I didn't know but played well/had a mic. And of course just played a lot!

Practiced my "shortcut" jumps, I was already pretty good at nades. Other than that simply playing all the time, learning through trial and error

Stopped running round like a noob. I was already doing pretty alright playing with a variety of different weapons.

Decided one day to actually learn to BR and strafe, unbelievable difference! Wish I had done it sooner and my KD would have been much better :(

Sounds like we took very similar approaches. Only difference is that I rarely had anyone my friends list who was great at this game because I was a micless random. Once I started using my mic it obviously got easier.

The reason I've always hated SWAT is mostly because host is such a ridiculous advantage and my internet speed sucks. Not a great combo. I think it helps with quickly reacting, although it's easier to improve your BR with MLG.

But yeah, I agree with you: It's always sad when a playlist dies. RIP MLG FFA and Double EXP. I'll miss you.

I'm sorry America is busy helping others in the world and actually making a difference.

Something Canada will never do.

I just consistantly played with and against people who were much better than me, also like others have said playing 50 high in any playlist helps you improve a considerable amount.

Yeah, I remember my first time running MLG at 50 high with some friends. That was an interesting (and very painful) experience, but I did get better.

Same here. If anything I've gotten much worse over time. Halo 3 was a wonderful game, I am not a wonderful player.
