1. You could of PM'ed a ninja, you know.
2. As long as it counts towards the discussion of the thread, it should be fine.

This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

As has been (sort of) said, it is only bumping if your sole reason for posting is to get the thread noticed. If you are attempting to help another user, then no. A general rule of thumb, if you are double-posting, it's bumping; otherwise you're good.

Why don't you just post and see what happens, what's the worst possible outcome?

Just post your replies. I'll respond to it so it hides your bump.

A permaban and thread deletion. That's not going to happen though. At most I would expect a warning or a 3 day ban. Probably just a lock and a message if they deem it wrong.

I guess that could happen, but it would be kinda harsh, especially when OP really has something to say. Ninjas have a heart too right? Right??

We miss you Logan.
Ask any question. I'll help with anything on site or off.

I personally wouldn't think that's bumping.

If it contributes anything to the thread I don't see why not.

Go fori it, I've seen it done with older threads.

I was told that as long as you're continuing the discussion and not just saying "lol" or some vague one-liner it's not bumping.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am going to wait a month, then come bump this thread by saying "If its on topic it isn't a bump"

Every unarchived thread is up for posting in, as long as you continue to post on-topic as you would be anyway, it's fine. I would hasten to add that older threads require that you post something new to the thread. If you're echoing previous thoughts, then that could be considered bumping or redundant spamming.

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

I believe that it would still count as bumping a thread, even if you're still contributing to the discussion, but that's just what I think.
