Hi everyone! I've installed Halo but when I click the icon to open it, a small box entitled "Exception!" comes up and it says "Gathering Exception Data...". After a few seconds that box closes and an error report comes up saying that Halo has to close. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Stephen

You're not gonna get any help unless you post your PC specs.

Well, when I first got Halo, I downloaded it and it worked fine. That was about 2 years ago. Then I kinda lost interest in it. Now I'm trying to install it again, and I have this problem. And how do I post my specs?

Tell us your graphics card, sound card, motherboard, sped, and hard drive space.

Also, try reinstalling it....

How do I get the info about my graphics card, sound card, and motherboard? And what do you mean by hard drive space, and speed? Also, I've reinstalled it about 5 times.

To find out your different cards, go to Start<Control Panel<Printers and Other Hardware<Sytem

System will be in a little menu to the left.

Hard Drive Space must not be a factor, seeing how you managed to install it. The speed, is the speed of your motherboard (ie-1.4 gigahertz). You should be able to check that in the System window.

Also, check how much RAM you have. That can cause problems too if you don't have enough.

Cool your jets, everyone, it could be an honest mistake. Besides, unless he has a legit copy, most of the advice we're giving him is gonna be useless.

I would try un/reinstalling completely, since this may mean that you're missing bits and pieces of certain maps. As for your specs, you can find that out by going to Run and typing in "dxdiag". That should bring up a DirectX diagnostic report, listing everything in detail.

uhh, there is no evidence that he didn't buy it. If you don't want to help him, then dont even bother entering the thread in the first place.
