None of that address my point that most servers in server browsing games have hosts who abuse their power. If halo reach had a true skill system and maps that didnt suck then the matchmaking system would of worked. This is how it was in halo3.

It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

What games are you speaking of? Because I've never really encountered abusive hosts, excpt in a game like Halo that uses p2p.

So please tell me what abusive hosts your talking about...

It doesn't matter cause I already addressed it.

If they are abusive.. Their server is not going to last very long. BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING TO POPULATE IT!

IE Stupid -blam!- naturally gets phased out. The good stuff comes out on top.

dude calm down lol you didn't even answer my question lol i just wanted to know whats coming from reach to 4 but your still arguing over server browsers....if it hasn't happened it probably wont. i'd like for it to happen to but i'm still gonna play if it doesn't and you still post in halo forums and play the games so it obviously doesn't matter to you that much if your still playing

Because this server browser issue is the only one that matters. Anyone who's still arguing over AA's and sprint and bloom is a -blam!- idiot.

I'm new to competitive Halo and Halo itself (Reach being my first video game ever actually). Message me if you want to play;

Reach: MLG, Arena, Doubles, BTB and customs.
Halo 3: Ranked MM and customs.

Also I have every Halo title and all of its DLC on the Xbox 360.
-Umpa

All you need to know is that Halo 4 will be significantly better than Reach overall at launch.

2. Custom Game Servers being the solution to ALL Halo problems
3. Caps Lock

Oh lets see counter strike, battlefield 3, team fortress 2, red orchestra 2, Empire Napoleon Shogun 2 total war games do i need to go on?

It doesnt matter how many good servers there are, in the end there will always be 10x the bad servers as there are good servers to play on.

The point is granted the reach system is terrible but halo 3's wasnt. Server browsing doesnt fix anything when server browsing has its own set of problems.

Hey, I don't like AA's!
That's fine cause in a server browser environment. I can make a game without the AA's and someone can find my hosted room in a list and join it.

Current Status Quo:
Hey I don't like AA's... let's bombard the forums and beg them to change the playlists.

One gives you control.
The other creates a huge -blam!- bottleneck.
Which do you support?
Control or bottleneck?

Your original question is pointless OP, it's as simple as that. Because none of it matters. It's just a bunch of -blam!-es nitpicking assets.

Trust me, I hated Armor Lock just as much as the next person. But not once, did you ever see me try to get it removed from the game. I would rather try to get control of it, so I can decide whether that asset exist in the games I play or not.

Unlike the rest of you who are trying to get it completely removed from the game. Just cause you don't like Armor Lock, doesn't mean everyone should play without it.

That's the difference between me and people like you.

I welcome them to add assets. ADD ALL YOU WANT! Go -blam!- CRAZY!.. Just let me choose when and how I play with those assets.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

People complain about assets because your idea is impossible at the moment. Halo 4 is too far down the road of development to add such a..."different" feature. Pitch your idea to 343 for H5.

And if you actually want people's support, you really have to quit being a little -blam!- about it. Honestly.

As for your idea, I remember some people in the mid-H3 era asking for that exactly, and the group died off around H:Reach. I would support what you ask, simply because unranked playlists (lol, all Reach playlists) are just limited forms of your idea.

AND back on topic, its because 343 has the competitive IQ of a cat, and is ruining Halo back into "insert generic FPS genre here". They haven't done one thing for Halo Reach since the their pathetic TU, and just keep hurting things.

I already know it's too late. That's why I said I'm waiting till 5. Hopefully the rest of you learn something by then.

In fact, I'd say right now is a good time to MAKE ABSOLUTE CERTAIN THEY PUT A -blam!- SERVER BROWSER IN FOR 5.

If you do not get this task accomplished. You're all failures as far as I'm concerned. And you have no business trying to be armchair developers if you can't get them to do this one simple task to improve Halo for the future.

We could have had it for 4, but you all wasted effort complaining about stupid -blam!-.

In fact, let's look back at what all the crying you did and what it accomplished.

-blam!-ed about bloom. Yay, you got a few playlists with -blam!- gametypes to update the bloom. The rest of matchmaking still sucks ass

You -blam!-ed about Armor Lock. Yay, you got armor lock removed from a few playlists. The rest of matchmaking still sucks ass.

You -blam!-ed about Jet pack. Yay, you accomplished jack -blam!-. AND.. The rest of matchmaking still sucks ass.

Should I continue.

Yes, I think I will.

Oh, thanks to your needless efforts to brag about how GREAT Halo 1 was, you got them to sell an Anniversary Edition to you. Stupid asses. Just throw your money away.

Anyone that actually bought that Anniversary crap. Go kill yourself please.
Because you directly contributed to encouraging the downfall of the industry with your purchase.

If you really wanted to play Halo 1 again.. You should have saved your original X-Box, modded it, and downloaded the damn thing to the hard-drive.

No really...
Was the graphics difference in Anniversary worth it? I doubt it. Oh wow, you get a button that lets you switch back and forth so you could see the difference. BIG WHOOPDY -blam!- DOooo!

That Anniversary Edition they sold to you could have instead been a Halo: Reach Custom Edition.
But you fail to attack the correct issues.

And because you failed to attack the correct issues.
Halo 4 is going to suffer and fail just like Reach if not more so. Well nvm, they did add join-in-progress so at least the randoms won't be forced to play hide and seek with a bunch of losers anymore.

In fact I know you care.
Someone here is already well aware of what my message is.
So you can act like you don't pay attention. But my message is getting across.

All that's left is for you to decide whether you're going to get all butt hurt because I called you idiots... or if you're going to realize that what I say is truth and you get off your asses and get a server browser for Halo.

It's as simple as that. And just like a commercial I will keep beating it into your thick heads. Because repetition works.

You somehow manage to incorporate custom game browsing, caps lock, -blam!- s, and massive amounts of spaces between sentences in the overwhelming majority of your posts. You do this while simultaneously and unjustly blaming a certain crowd of gamers for 'ruining' Halo.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

Yes.

But you all have to admit. It draws attention.

Anyway. For all you competitive losers out there, something to think about.

Instead of one Giant overall rank across a multitude of gametypes against a multitude of players putting up with a multitude of different connections. Which in turn, makes your rank almost worthless when you consider all the other unnamed variables to the list. Such as the fact that you're playing over the INTERNET which is a huge variable all by itself. And that fact that your a stacked team playing against a bunch of randoms.

What about this?

Each person/host/server has it's own unique ranking system.
So that you rank up seperately in relation to each and every player. Go download Trackmania if you want to see a GOOD ranking system that is used globally. Beats the -blam!- out of your 1-50 you all fret over.

This works. You know how I know. Because I've seen it in action. Wolfenstein : ET. I play on one server and rank up and unlock stuff but so what. That has no bearing if I decide to suddenly change servers. Because the new one has an entirely different system set up. Which creates VARIETY! (It also creates communities that surround a specific server)

You might get bored of one server. But there's a new fresh one around the corner.

I recommend each and every one of you download a free game called Wolfenstein : ET, and LEARN how a multiplayer service is supposed to work.

Then you consider the ability to control things like blacklists, for those of you who want to complain about abusive hosts. Why on earth would you choose to keep nitpicking playlists for a failed matchmaking service instead of demanding we go back to the tried and true system of server browsers? It's beyond me why you waste time trying to get your ideas implemented into the playlists.

Remember, it's just 1, maybe a handful of people sitting in an office trying to make playlists to cater to a million different people with a million different opinions on what Halo IS!

Ultimately, it's a battle between people like me who are looking to push Halo towards more of a larger combat scenario such as what BF3 is providing, but with a Halo theme. to people who are obsessed with the small claustrophobic scenarios with minimal players.

We can have both. But only if you would all realize that a server browser and custom games WITH RANKS! can run in tandem with your peice of -blam!- matchmaking service so you can play your e-peen contests.

TL:DR
Because of a single playlist like BTB (Or larger) being as popular as it is. THIS GAME NEEDS A SEVER BROWSER! The rest of the smaller gametypes are completely fine being confined to the pile of -blam!- you all call matchmaking.

The real TL:DR

Why do we all have to play by the same exact rules?

Who cares if people use customs to boost?

HOW DOES THAT AFFECT YOU!

UNLESS YOU GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO TAKE IS AS A PERSONAL INSULT?????

HOW!?!?

Yea no. Halo is not 'claustrophobic'.

It is evident that don't understand Halo very well. It makes no sense for you to push for things that are unrealistic and contrary to the game.

You're telling me that the majority of the maps are not claustrophobic? How many playlists and maps does BTB have that are big wide open and support vehicles?

Ok, now how many are on inside maps where the moment you spawn in, within seconds and enemy could be coming around each and every corner at you?

Most of matchmaking caters to the 'claustrophobic'.

1 BTB playlist. YAY!

YOU apparently don't understand it.

Battle Creek? That's a Claustrophobic map. If you need a reference of what I consider small.
