Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

Alright, I'll spam invites to random..

THAT'LL WORK!!!!

as opposed to having randoms join your room through a process in which they SPECIFICALLY CHOSE YOUR ROOM! Which eliminates a good portion of wasted time when you consider what that means.

Some might have specifically chosen it to grief you.
Most the time, it's chosen because they were in agreement with what you are hosting. Which means they are more likely to be quality players.

What part of that don't you get?

As a solo player, Matchmaking puts me with the 90% of players who don't like the same things I do.

With a server browser, as a solo player, I can consistently PLACE MYSELF with the 10% that do like the same things I do.

What part of THAT don't you get?

I dare you to get figures on who makes up the larger population of players. Full stacked teams, semi stacked teams, or solo players. I bet you Solo beats all of it hands down.

Your right spamming invites would work. Your to lazy to do that though. A custom game lobby search would be cool but what you dont get is that it isnt in the game, so work with what you have to have fun. Stop complaining and deal with what you have because as i said before the game wont change for you.

Since your pretty stupid.

To spam invites to random players, you first have to wade into matchmaking.

I'm trying to play a custom game to get away from matchmaking...DUHR!!!!

Then after playing a few peices of -blam!- wastes of time, I spam invites to recent players.

Nobody responds.

Back to matchmaking.. play a few sorry sacks of -blam!-. Spam more invites to recent players. 1 person responds.

...

..

Do I really have to play it all the way out?

Your right solos would probably make up the majority. If reach had the system halo 3 had but it was slightly updated then matchmaking would work perfectly. Completing overhauling the game to something new is not practical. If they just changed the system that is currently in place everything would work out perfectly.

I send invites to randoms constantly and get many responses so i dont know what your talking about. Secondly if playing 2 games of matchmaking meant having several hours of fun on customs wouldnt you do it?

But no, you complain and dont do what minimal effort it takes to get customs going.

No, cause at most, I'm the type of person who likes familiar ground...but unfamiliar competition.

IE. I'll play Valhalla CTF ALL DAY EVERY DAY, and never get bored of it. What I do get bored of...is the other players.

So even if I finally got enough people to simulate a BTB custom game. I will only play at most 3 games with you..maybe more depending on how it goes. If it goes horribly and it's obvious that skill levels are far out of wack, you'll only get 1 game.

Then by your reckoning, it's right back to matchmaking and MORE SPAM!

I'm sorry but you really are an idiot to even attempt to defend the current situation with custom gaming in halo.

By your logic you would get sick of custom games no matter what. Usually in a custom game lobby the people that are there stay for a long time so either way you lose and yet complain about it.

The current halo custom game situation sucks, but your idea wont happen for a long time so in the mean time have fun with the game instead of complaining about things that are in your control to change.

Did you ever play Halo 1 on the XBox over XBConnect by chance? No... then shutup. People don't stay that long.

You're thinking of those huge 64 player servers that most other games accomodate. Those are the servers where players hang around for hours at a time. Not the p2p server browsers with 4v4 games, it's usually on avg 2 games. And people move on and search for another host, or end up hosting their own room.

AS it is right now, you might be right about Halo customs, but that's because it's too hard and takes to long to be swapping out your competition in a custom gaming environment.

No, people will stay if they enjoy the custom games. Those 64 player servers are constantly losing and adding players but in halo which is 16 players those people are going to stay for a long time. Either way you lose, complain about it, then do nothing about it.

Just consider all the steps that would be involved in completely switching your opponents. It's not happening. You're forced to keep playing with the same people.

In matchmaking, what do people do when a game is done. They immediately leave the lobby and research. Why?

TO FIND NEW OPPONENTS!

How do you get a steady influx of unique opponents for custom games?

Because all your solutions are trash.

I'm talking at most, best 2 out of 3 then moving on.
And being able to do it quickly, so that you can get a few games against many unique teams througout the day. Let's say I want to play a btb 8v8 best 2 out of 3. And I want to play against at least 5 completely different teams.

I would need to at least have... 8x5...help me here. Uhmm
I'm too stupid to figure out the astronomical amount of friends I'd need to have waiting in the wings ready to play when I am.

Lol my solutions are trash? It not hard to find randoms! When you get bored of those randoms you simply find more. Your solution wont happen for a long time, as i said multiple times work with what you have, because the game wont change for you, deal with it. The current custom game system sucks, but you know what i am at least being realistic about it. You want the game to change even though that wont happen, i am saying use what the game offers you, even though you might dislike it.

Go play a game that offers great custom games and a constant rotating group of randoms there is another solution to your problems.

It won't change for me... your right. It'll change for US!.

What do you think I'm doing here.

I'm trying to get you people to stop nitpicking the small -blam!-..and do the one and only thing that needed to be done the moment Halo 2 dropped. A server browser running in tandem with MM. And if the server browser draws enough attention that it kills off MM. IT would be the final big...I TOLD YOU -blam!- SO!

But you people are too far up the ass of your Ranks and K/D ratios.

All i see is a pathetic troll that will never be satisfied by his desires. As i said go play a game that has great custom with a constant group of rotating randoms because the game is not going to change. Either play a game that makes you happy or deal with the game in its current state.

I would if most the newer games weren't trying to adopt this 'big read easy button' matchmaking bs.

There are alot of games lately even on PC suffering from this behind the scenes matchmaking service. Warhammer games are suffering dearly for it. AT least if Warhammer adopted a server browser you'd immediately know how many players there were out in the world looking for a game. Instead of hitting a button and waiting...waiting...waiting...found 1 other player... waiting
waitng
waiting

WAITING!!!

AHhhh -blam!- it.

OR, maybe Halo could you know adopt a LOGICAL playlist scheme.

You know like 1 playlist per gametype, a playlist totally dedicated to that gametype and that gametype alone.

That would be halfway towards simulating a server browser environment.

CoD gets away with it. I wouldn't be surprised if the main reason CoD is more popular is simply because they are more logical about their playlists. They don't make stupid -blam!- like 'ACTION SACK'

They make playlist designated by gametype. That's -blam!- smart. Because gametype is without a doubt, one of the biggest decision factors for players. Almost all players have a gametype preference.

Personally I don't need a matchmaking service that is forcing variety on me. I'll add variety when I damn well feel like it, on my terms.

Cod is popular because it is easy, no other reason. HALO wont change for you. I have given you so many solutions to you problems but you refuse to do any of them. Why dont you go play a game that has all the features you like? Why do you keep playing halo even though you dont have fun? Why do you come to the forums acting like a god of video games even though you come up with the most illogical and very unlikely answers to your problems?

I only managed to rack up 600 games on Halo 3? What? I'm not a -blam!- loser like the rest of you. With you 20k plus numbers.

So playing a video game for a long time makes us losers ok whatever you say.....

As for you number 3, you explained matchmaking as it currently is. Just a bunch of randoms -blam!- off with no worries, because all they have to do is hit that MM button and off they go into a fresh new game.

Just like how all they have to do is join a new server when they get banned.

IF it was a server browser.. They start getting blacklisted. They start finding out they can't join anyone anymore.....

Sounds a lot worse then the quit ban which you hate so much.

MM is what lets the greifers get away with it. Because it takes to long for their algorithms to kick in and punish. That wouldn't happen with a SB. Especially if the person in control of the Server is present and made aware of the trouble maker. The person might have figured out a way past the alogrithm but they are not going to fool a human thinking being.

You give human beings to much credit

It may seem like I'm contradicting myself here but.

You are contradicting yourself.

SERVER BROWSERS = Personal
Matchmaking = Anonymous

I think you can put the 2+2 together on that analogy I can but by your logic 2+2 would equal 5

lol

E0S, please just stop talking.
