You must confront your inabilities
You must adjust to your capabilities

Halo reach was bungie taking previous ideas and going a little too far, i.e. AL users, and jetpackers on parts of the map that should have kill zones. 343 on the other hand IMO is balancing these ideas like there is a shield ability that only covers your front, and the jetpack is like a little turbo that resembles evade more than the jetpack.

Alright, I'll spam invites to random..

THAT'LL WORK!!!!

as opposed to having randoms join your room through a process in which they SPECIFICALLY CHOSE YOUR ROOM! Which eliminates a good portion of wasted time when you consider what that means.

Some might have specifically chosen it to grief you.

Forgive the double post, but if your server browser idea were to be implemented, I'd spend a good chunk of my down time griefing you. Seriously bud, lay off the caps lock. It makes you seem legitimately mad (which only makes it more fun to laugh at you) or you're constantly under the influence of something. Chill the -blam!- out.

OR, maybe Halo could you know adopt a LOGICAL playlist scheme.

You know like 1 playlist per gametype, a playlist totally dedicated to that gametype and that gametype alone.

What happens when some people like BTB Slayer, some want Doubles Slayer, and some want 4v4. Add TU options and you're up to 6 playlists for default slayer...

They don't make stupid -blam!- like 'ACTION SACK'

You just crossed the line.

IT was a 10v10 LFD2 server. I spawned as a spitter. I spit at a downed survivor. I hid, waited for the thing to recharge and spit at someone else.

I would have booted you too. You seem like you have no grasp of basic strategy for Left 4 Dead, Halo, or any game. Why the hell would you spit on a downed survivor and use your ability that takes ages to recharge for minimal damage. A special infected like a Hunter or even Smoker with higher DPS would kill much faster. You should have stalked the survivors and waited for them to hole up in an area.

The spitter has pretty much the lowest damage per second of all specials. SI like the Hunter, Charger, Smoker, and Tank are designed to dole out enormous damage to stop the enemy team with one coordinated attack.

A wise word: The spitter isn't about how much damage you do, but when you do said damage. If there was any chance he could've been saved, you should have let a hunter pounce him to finish the kill for sure. You may have taken out half the health of a survivor that was probably doomed anyway, but wouldn't your 45 second respawn be more worthwhile if you had done 50 points of damage total, but that 50 points came at the Barns crescendo, incapped another survivor, lightly damaged another, and slowed another one down to <40% speed?

Halo: Reach is the beginning of a new age for gaming.
It proves that developers can get away with punishing their players instead of fixing their game....and yet the fanboys will still sing praises to them.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

You did not....

I don't give a -blam!- what you think about what I was doing. ALL The survivors were holed up in the same area. In a difficult place for me to spit into without getting killed. And my act of spitting on the downed survivor actually discrouaged them from coming back to revive said person.

So don't talk to me about how I don't know tactics. I see a downed survivor? Thats my que to make sure he STAYS DOWN! In that case, unlike a hunter who gets stuck and quickly killed. I can spit and they can't make that spit dissappear. It's going to do it's damage and if a hunter wishes to also pounce on him, maybe a boomer puke on him as well so be it. Make sure they don't get a chance to revive.

The only reason I got kicked was because I was keeping them from taking advantage of the spawning system. I didn't know at the time that apparently there was a limit on who and how many spitters can be in the game at one time.

I never knew about the spit and die method that they all love to abuse. And it is an exploit as far as I'm concerned. So -blam!- em. And if I run across people like that in a Halo server browser environment, I'll treat it exactly the same. A bunch of losers not worth playing with if they are going to kick people with no warning because you don't cheat and manipulate the game like they do.

Basically the method goes as follows, spit and die.
Someone else quickly spawns in, spits and die.
Next person spawns one in, spits and die.
and so on and so on.

I'm sorry but that is straight up cheap -blam!- manipulation of the game Why not just let everyone be a -blam!- spitter instead of limiting it to 2 people at a time if your that -blam!- desperate to have everyone throwing spit everywhere.
Instead you make it an obscure little secret and boot anyone that doesn't know about it. Yeah.... ok. Considering there was already plenty of custom mods running on that server. I don't see why they would have had a problem in lifting the limits on how many of each type of infected players could spawn as.

Granted this is the dark-side of server browser environments, but even with that I STILL THINK IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN MATCHMAKING! So wtf is your problem?

So again. go -blam!- yourself. You're about as big as an elitist douchbag as all those players. And that's the problem. Halo and all games in general could do with less of people like you. Those who think that only you deserve to play the game, and that everyone should play up to your standards or gtfo. -blam!- that. And -blam!- you.

Just remember, you force casuals into matchmaking by limiting custom games. And matchmaking suffers because of it.

Give casuals what they need; A server browser.

And I gaurantee you that matchmaking will become a MUCH better place for you. The population might drop quite a bit. But it will be all that you wish it to be. Quality matches.

Now is as good a time as any to start pounding down all the proper forums to get it for Halo 5.

or maybe not. See if that were to happen. Most of the people who play Halo for fun wouldn't even touch matchmaking. You'd be stuck playing against people who actually care about ranks and stuff. Which means you'll be playing with alot of cheaters, douchbags and losers.

Yes I am too lazy, because the effort involved is stupid and retarded. There is a better way to do it that doesn't involve 3rd party websites. Signing up to that. Listing my information. Sending out friend invites. Waiting for a response. Scheduling a timeframe. Sending out game invites. Hopeing everyone is in agreement. Hoping everyone connection is good. etc etc.

Lazy is them not adding it in the game. And the excuses they make for it are just that....excuses.

I don't need to sign up to another damn website.
So in other words, you want 343 to spends hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars completely overhauling the online multiplayer system because you're to lazy to take a few minutes out of your time to sign up on a website (which takes maybe 5 minutes) and send out FRs (which takes even less time). Is that right?

Let's use your logic for another scenario.

How much money do you think car manufacturers spend putting things like horns, headlights and seatbelts into cars? But why?

You wouldn't need a seat belt if you'd just be safe defensive driver.

Why install headlights when you can go out and buy a handheld spotlight?

Why install a horn when you can go to a freaking dollar store and buy one of those fog horns people use when their out on the lake?

In all three of those instances, consider the cost to the manufacturer to install those things.. compared to what it would cost for you to handle the issue yourself. Except in this case, they transfer that cost to the consumer.

I really was wondering when someone would bring this argument up, but you know as well as I do, that it's stupid -blam!- argument.

The argument is stupid, because it's in their best interest to provide their customers with a better service. A server browser is a better service than matchmaking.

So it cost them a million dollars to put this in the game? That's highly doubtful considering they are a group of talented programmers and the technology behind server browsers isn't terribly new or anything like that. So it's not like they have to think outside of the box and make something entirely revolutionary. If they really need help. Tell them to go talk to GearBox, the ones who did the PC port for crying out loud.

-blam!- all of you fanboys!

Then again, no doubt...

Even if they did add a server browser. Most likely they'd -blam!- up somewhere else. Just in an attempt to make it fail so they can keep pushing people towards matchmaking.

For instance.

Here's another reason why it's harder than you make it appear to get custom games going.

You don't gain credits or ranks from customs.

So basically they're saying, you play customs. We don't want you experiencing 100% of the game. So you all insist on staying in matchmaking instead. Cause you gotta get those super important credits.

If you were to have customs, you can't discriminate against it like you have been.

"DUHR!"
"As long as is not ranked, I'm fine with it."

That's pretty much the response, every single time you pose it to one of you 'competitive' types. Why does having a global rank matter? Why can't you just be satisfied with proving yourself in the moment?

In the words of a Norn Warrior I met in GW2.
"I don't care what you did yesterday. The only thing I care about is what you can do for me today."

Tell me what happens to custom games, if you can't gain ranks in it. But a good portion of the game is built around gaining ranks to unlock stuff?

So what if people want to jump into custom and boost themselves to max rank before they actually go into matchmaking? Does it really matter? Cause you're better than them anyway right. And your victory will be all the much sweeter when you shove that rank down their throats right?

So why is boosting in customs so much of an issue for you crybabies?

The way I see it, you all need to adopt my stance... which is.

I play legit and that's all that matters.

When Halo 4 drops..

Go ahead and keep nitpicking every aspect of their new assets on their forums. Which I know is going to happen. You people are going to find a reason to -blam!- about everything. You're going to be demanding ANOTHER TU. More playlists updates. etc.

Meanwhile, matchmaking itself will continue down it's path of tearing the community apart.

Nitpicking and complaining to get things that can be changed is still more plausible and realistic then demanding 343 to completely change the way multiplayer and customs work. Another tu is still more likely to happen then server browsers. Please be realistic.

What you want will not happen, so instead of complaining about it move on to another game or do what i suggested to you earlier.

Also to address your point about ranks being in customs, no player should get points or rank ups for playing customs. Custom games are about playing on maps and game types that are not in the standard multiplayer. They are about having more fun.
Plus you would need a a complete overhaul of the ranking system which yet again is very likely not to happen. So what you want and whats going to happen are two completely different things. Either accept the changes, complain about something that can actually be fixed that doesnt require a complete overhaul of the multiplayer and custom game system,or move on to something else.

Also why do you come to the reach forums? Go complain to 343, bungie no longer manages the halo universe.

Because 343 forum mods.... don't get it.
They are on power trips.
Unable to look past their own... oh my gosh, everyone play nice! You can't argue anything over there. Much in the same way that you guys can barely look past your K/D ratios.

And besides that, My fight is not with them. It's with you.

Like you said, they won't change it for 'me'
They will change it for 'us'

I need all of you to pull your heads out of your asses. That is all. Instead of making excuses against having a better multiplayer experience. Get the -blam!- on the wagon.

I hate CoD, but because you people are -blam!- stupid.. I just might have to call it quits on attempting to stay loyal to Halo.

Hypothetical Scenario for you to imagine:

What if every forum, everywhere related to Halo had everyonr posting and asking the question.

I think it would send a very clear message... don't you think.

It'd work alot better than...

OMG Bloom
OMG ARMOR LOCK
OMG JET PACK!
OMG DMR
OMG BR
OMG PISTOL
Nerf this
Nerf that
Buff this
Buff that

GO AFTER THE BIG PICTURE! You know.. Get the tools you need to get control of those things that bother you. Instead of leaving it as is. Where your only solution is to sign up to their forum and BEG THEM to change the playlist to your liking.

How bout people like you go -blam!- off, if your not willing to help get a server browser. Halo won't change because idiots like you choose to take the stance that you are. You would rather fight the idea than support it. No, wait, you'd rather nitpick minor -blam!-. But why?

If your idea wasnt so stupid then maybe people would support it. Server Browsers wont solve any problems. It will just open the door to a new set of problems.

And we are the ones being selfish? You want the entire way the game works to change for you. No one else wants what you want.
