For the last few months I have been trying to change my linked gamertag on B.net and have been unsuccessful each time.
I am unable to update my account via my Xbox console because my main account is on an Xbox LIVE Gold Family Plan. Only the primary can access it, but this person (who regrettably is not in my family and was simply a friend doing me a favor) has quite literally disappeared off of the face of the Earth for the last year and a half. What's even more odd is that the subscription is reportedly cancelled, yet I am still able to access Xbox LIVE's Gold member features.
I have my gamertag that I wish to replace this one with all in order; however, when I try to change the address associated with B.net via the passport website, I get an error that it is not available, even though it is a brand new email.
To make matters worse, I cannot change any emails around again for the next 30 days, effectively bringing me to a standstill once again. This is very frustrating and the only advice I'm getting from forumgoers and Xbox Customer Support is to 'start over'.
What are my alternatives? I just want to link a different gamertag to my Bungie.net profile.
