I recently got live, and was dismayed to find that bodies, weapons, and blood/charring decals disapeared after a very short time. The 360's RAM could store this for halo 3, though, and would make the battlefield so much cooler after a huge grenade/ morter match -- it would add a sence of realism.

DONT LET T00 FAT POST!!

It would start to lag if you keep the bodies on the ground during a big team battle.

Maybe leave them there for a while but just long enough so that no one notices they're gone.

Live is more than laggy enough as it is. Do you really want corpses and other junk cluttering the level, when instead hte game could run smoother?

Only on live, because if they didn't the groungd would be filled with corpses.

only way i would say no is if it caused lag....

but i want it to at least be in campaign- imagine if there are any back track levels and the bodies were still there, or a remake of the library with non-dissapearing bodies:)

"heh"

Maybe they could do what Quake (or Doom, I forgot) does, make the bodies materialize after a span of time.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

I think that say..50 bodies get on the battlefield, 25 go away..max is 50 so as not to cause too much lag in BTB.

First off, dead bodies, i.e. additional polygons don't create lag. Dead bodies are no longer active and have no effect on bandwidth.

What it may result in is a loss of framerate... but here's the thing, Bungie will be tweaking the game for framerate vs. graphical quality for months and months. Every game deals with this and Bungie does it very well. (That's why they took out infinite grenades)

In Halo PC, there was no limit to the number of bodies that could be on the battlefield, only a limit on the amount of time they were allowed to remain there. Sometimes, on a small map with all rocket launchers, there would be 30+ bodies in a room, with the constant explosions making them fly everywhere. THAT was pretty cool, and it didn't seem to make any hardware lag or connection lag that I could see.

I say have bodies stay indefinitely on Campaign, but not on Multiplayer, because if you died then respawned, you shouldn't be able to go back to your body...since you are you so there can't be another dead you on the ground. I say, have the bodies dissapear (maybe an effect like the active cammo) when the person who owns that body has respawned and is approaching it or something like that.

I would have to say that bodies dissapearing is fine by me. I have played alot of games where there are countless bodies on the ground. Although, it would be nice if the blast marks and such remained in place. It could give hints as to where the campers like to hide.
