I'd like to see them back in Halo 3 as a little tribute to CE.

They were:

The Bear, The Big L, Butcher, Caboose, Crazy, Cupid, Darling, Dasher, Disco, Donut, Dopey, Ghost, Goat, Grumpy, Hambone, Hollywood, Howard, Jack, Killer, King, Mopey, Nood, Penguin, Pirate, Prancer, Saucy, Shadow, Sleepy, Snake, Sneak, Stompy, Stumpy, Tooth, Walla Walla, Weasel, Wheezy, Whicker, Whisp, and Wilshire

I don't know, maybe I just liked them? Anyone else feel the same way?

Don’t get mad if I flame you because you cannot spell, or because my three year old has better grammar and etiquette than you.

IT was funny, but now its really impracticle. Chances are you will not be having a lan, if you are then kudos, but even then everyone will want to make thier own character, or they will bring thier profile on thier memory card.

Neat idea, hell it could be in Halo 2 and I never would have noticed. LOL. I have my own profile and always play on XBL.

Those names were great for LANs. ( Me and my friends still have LANs every now and then ) It's good for when friends without Xboxs come over because rather tahn take the time to give everyone a profile, they can pick default or inverted. Not only are they completely random, but I call my friend Hollywood every now and then...and he ducks. (Inside joke having to deal with the ease of sniping him)

Ya, I agree with everyone that they wouldn't serve much of a purpose in Halo 3, but I still think they're cool. I havn't played lan since pre Halo 2, and that's why it took me this long to realize that they weren't in there.

But now that I know they're not there, I miss them... :(

That wasn't just halo. The xbox has a file in the UDATA folder containing the name of the xbox. I forgot which, but other games showed you the name, and some you could actually change the name. The names were kind of funny, but I doubt M$ did the same thing with the 360.

EDIT: Actually I'm sorry, M$ did name the 360s too. I just remembered when I tried out halo: CE on my 360, I said hey thats weird M$ named the 360s too. My 360s name is cupid.

haha yea the were funny, i remember one time my cousin got goat and he got stuck with that nickname lol.

besides, its not like it takes up alot of programming time to implement it. Apart from the list of names, the actual programming code would be max. 5-7 lines long (and thats in if...then language, the most basic of all programming code)

yea they should make more of them, but make em all funny (like walla walla) so you can make fun of ur friends while playing

Usually you figure out the name by playing system link (lan). When you join a game your box will come up with a name.

I made my name in Dead Or Alive 3 before I played Halo: CE system link, so I never knew what my box was called. :(
