I think I read somewhere that it doesn't but I would just like some clarification.

The HELL you are! These are precious gifts to me and they are non-transferable! How dare you regift my challenge prize. You might as well hock a wedding ring for beer money. -DeeJ

Most likely, it's the best UNSC ship. I would imagine that it does.

I'd be shocked if it didn't.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Wow, I was just about to make this thread. Glad I didn't.

I dunno, it seems like any other AI will steal the spotlight from Cortana. Plus, the bits of the Bridge Scene we've seen would've shown a present AI, no?

On the other hand, a ship that size would undoubtedly need an AI to help run it. I wonder how s/he will handle The Didact's "probe".

Honestly... I wouldn't.

I mean, they sent it off into possibly hostile space without the best soldiers (blue team) available...

  • 09.07.2012 2:23 AM PDT

Perhaps Blue have been tasked with something of importance, but different to the Infinity's mission.

They could be, along with the SIII's, forming a unique unit of their own -- for highly ambitious and dangerous missions. Perhaps they are looking for the ONI vessel from the last chapter of Primordium. They could even, and I realise this is all speculation, be looking for the Librarian.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

If it was anything else I'd be shocked. His character in the K5 trilogy is build up as the direct antithesis to Cortana, right down to his holographic representation.

They're probably laying the foundation for conflict there, and if Cortana's going rampant then conflict there most certainly will be. If there are other Spartan IIs on Infinity and they're ordered to take Cortana from John to be destroyed, I wonder what John would do.

I think he'd go as far as to kill one of them for her, if it came down to that.

I'd guess he could talk them out of it. I think Blue Team would be loyal to John and disregard their orders in this scenario if John said Cortana was no threat.

Nah, I'm sure they'll be convinced otherwise by John. They hold a lot of respect for him, enough to override commands me think. The only way John would kill another S-II is if he has gone truly crazy.

No living S-II would act against John or Cortana. Spartans may be bred to follow orders, but they'd never turn on one another.

I could see John sending her off with someone from Blue Team to be taken to Earth. Maybe in Halo 5.

It was said that ever since she had entered Installation 04's Control Center she has become more twitchy. And in Halo: First Strike John did think that if she ever became a liability he'd pull the plug on her.

So, as much as it would pain him to do it, I think John would pick his family over Cortana.

Well we dont know about that yet, maybe the blue team is on infinity ?

However i do agree it is kinda stupid to send the best ship available in times when ur nation might start another war outside the galaxy.

  • 09.07.2012 1:51 PM PDT

Space. The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of Murphy's Laws on the StarShip Enterprise

It's 50/50 whether blue team is in the Infinity. My reasoning is that ONI either used blue team to train the spartans on the Infinity or training/combat elsewhere.

OT, the Infinity probably had several AI's to run things. Certainly one to help run the ship, especially with calculations

Blue Team are not in Halo 4 so they are not on the Infinity.

Naomi pretty much disregarded her fellow Spartan's in Glasslands. She seems to have too much respect for Osman. I'm sure if Blue Team would have gone against the arrest of Halsey, Naomi would have fought on the side of Osman and the ODST's and that's not only because of following orders...

Don't do anything you wouldn't want to have to explain to paramedics. Trust me, I'm a pilot.

I'd be surprised if it didn't, considering the amount of money and resources invested into it. Coupled with the sheer size of the ship, I think an A.I. is a necessity.

  • 09.07.2012 3:35 PM PDT

I am alpha, i am omega.

I am the last of the primes.

A better question would be does infinity have a dumb or smart ai?

My bet is on 2 dumb ai's.

This.

Forerunner AIs and ancillas make UNSC Smart AIs look like child's toys. It was likely the Infinity had a Smart AI running the show with even a few dumb AIs to handle point defense and ship ops. But they were likely taken offline by the Didact's probe.
