I know this article is about two weeks old and some of you may have seen it already, but I haven't seen any thread here on the Universe Forum about it, and just saw the list now, so I thought it would be good for everyone if I posted the list here and everyone got to see them in case. Also, I know this would more properly go in the Waypoint Forums, but this is Halo, a universe created by Bungie and we still discuss this stuff, so it belongs here.

Competitive multiplayer achievements are out. Online ones belong to Spartan Ops, except for two which involve winning matches.

I'm really pleased with 343 again on their decision to avoid online competitive multiplayer in their achievements. Perhaps they learned from their mistake with the Halo Reach map pack achievements, some of which are impossible to get because of the lack of proper playlists.

I also really like some of the names for the achievements like Lone Wolf Legend, Contact the Domain and This Is My Rifle This Is My Gun.

Anyways, what do you guys think about the achievement list? 8 levels might sound short, but I'm confident in 343. They've done quite well so far and actually made me highly anticipate Halo 4.

Discuss.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

but I haven't seen any thread here on the Universe Forum about it,

Yes, that's because there was already one made in the flood. And the achievement names all sound bad, and too few even bother to reference older Halo's. And the Campaign can't fully be judged by levels anyway, so...

Why are you here?

I hope those 8 missions are long.

Ah.

That makes sense. I haven't been on the Flood since March, so I had no idea. And I'm just saying, a lot of people judge the campaign's quality and longevity just by seeing the numbers. A lot of people thought Reach was going to amazing because it had 11 levels in total and look at what happened.

It's been confirmed while ago... it will be long, same as Halo-sized campaign. Don't worry about it, dude.

In which the missions for Halo 3 and Reach were not long whatsoever other than the PoA for Reach.

Yeah I have to agree. They are kinda lackluster.

Here's what I'd name some of them:

The Legend of 117 -> 'Legendary Proportions'
Lone Wolf Legend -> 'Old Skool'
Skullduggery -> 'I'm game'
This is my Rifle, this is my Gun -> 'Some kind of weapon'
Mortardom (this one seems to have been copied straight from CoD :/) -> I don't know what the hell this is supposed to mean :s
Explore the Floor -> 'You know he dead!'
Give Him the Stick -> 'Oh, but it's not you who's got me...'
Chief, Smash! -> 'Whac-a-crawler'

WC: minimal skirmishes, none of which you have to participate in (off topic: I am impressed at how this player was able to tolerate the incompetent friendly AI for so long)
ONI: [haven't played it much. The vehicle physics I can't stand them]
Nightfall: what could have been the most brutal mission turned out to be the easiest
TotS: you could take down both AA guns from a distance and the Spire section is very easy even without hijacking a Banshee. You could easily skip the Zealot
LNoS: easiest mission start ever, space battle takes up a huge segment of the mission
Exodus: Brutes are pushovers
NA: The only mission that is unique
The Package: Scorpion beats everything, fighting the Jackals and Skirmishers is tough but after that, the rest of the level is easy
PoA: you can skip most of the big battles, excluding the fight with the Brutes
Lone Wolf: lame Firefight copy, except with concussion rifle spam

Only like 2 levels are really difficult (even without skipping all the enemies).

Back before the game was released, Bungie gave out the first to letters of each level and everyone started thinking what they thought they meant. They left out one because they said ''it would have been to obvious'', a lot of people correctly predicted this being PoA, along with correctly predicting LW (Lone Wolf), EX (Exodus) and others.

The first level which is entirely a cutscene was also included and people thought it to be a level itself. Same goes with Lone Wolf, which is essentially a cutscene.

I don't mind back tracking and repeating environments if it's done as Halo CE did it with Truth and Reconciliation - Keyes and Assault on the Control Room - Two Betrayals.

Glory and fame, blood is our name!
Souls full of thunder, hearts of steel!
Killers of men, a warrior's friend!
Sworn to avenge our fallen brothers!
Sons of the gods, today we shall die.
Open Valhalla's door!
Let the battle begin, with swords in the wind! Hail Gods of War!

Give him the stick.
